Just letting you know we are now home from tresillian (sleep school) We spent 6 nights there and made some progress. DD is sleeping much longer in her days sleeps and is generally only waking once a night now to be fed so I am feeling a bit better myself now I am not so exhausted and DD is much happier when she is up and playing as she is not so tired. So all in all I highly recomned the place - was also lovely chatting to other mums in the same situation and the nurses were just lovely and supportive.
Have been trialling DD off her reflux meds (losec) for the past 5 days but will be put back on it tomorrow as her symptoms have started to come back. Was soooo hoping it would have settled down enough by now to control without the meds but oh well as long as she is happy and healthy!
Her feeding issues are "behavioural" and are related to her associating pain with feeding from when her reflux was out of control. Tresillian helped with that aswell but shes gone downhill (again) so am going to be slowly weaning her but have to go slow as I am quite prone to mastitis and blocked ducts.
Hope all you lovely ladies and your bubbies are well - Hard to think they are half a year old. The first 6 months of pregnancy seemed to take forever, whilst the first 6 months of DD's life have flown!
Ery I am glad things are better for you. I am sorry to hear you are going to start weaning, I know how much you wanted to BF. You have done an awesome job to feed her as long as you have, especially with all the hurdles you faced. xoxo
Ery thats great news hun! So glad to hear that Tresillian was for you and that Ella is sleeping much better. What a fantatsic effort you have put in with feeding with so many complications, you have done a wonderful job and should be sooooooo proud of yourself . I hope the reflux settles back down again real soon.
Oz, we are doing BLS here to, I was a bit nervous at first with the gagging and stuff but I have settled down a bit now DD on the other hand, thinks its just great! You're DD is a clever little chicky rockin away, how cute is it when they do that lol
Yah Iz on that little toothypeg . Skybie I lurve the new photo on your ticker! And dont think that new little inscription under your signature has gone unnoticed . awaiting eagerly
Maya- Hows Ts ear hun?
Where are you all girls? Jen, KellyD, V-Love, Dedicated)mummy, Liz, nina21, rach, chepie, cam, heavenly, mzy, stevie-anne.....there did I get y'all!?!?
Ery, we give her everything and anything! lmao im not overly fussed about whats in things re allergies, obviously not peanut butter or anything like that.
Iz has watermelon, banana, avo, carrots, beans, hot chips if we're having them (yes i know bad mummy) grilled fish flaked up, chicken flaked up, biscuits, cruskits, grated apple, pear slices, cheese sticks. basically anything easy to chew and easy to hold she can have.
lilydust, seriously though...ive completely lost my mind! but hey, will be worth it in the end!
Ery - glad you're feeling more positive now
T's ear is better, though still producing goodly amounts of wax. The doc gave her the all clear for swimming and showering, and we had a good lesson on Thursday night.
We're doing BLS here, too. T is chewing on wholegrain bread fingers (toasted), has tried cucumber, pumpkin and banana, too. Banana she'll happily toy with and move around in her mouth but it tends to get pushed out soon after. The toast fingers are definitely going down a treat! (ETA: not fussed about her ingesting peanut butter - she's had PB crusts from DS's leftovers, and we don't have any history of allergies to these things. I'm more worried about withholding them for so long that by the time she gets any she will end up with an intolerance.) The first time we gave her food to play with it was broccoli and it went straight in (soooo unlike DS who snubbed solids till about 10 months!!). It changed her gut flora straight away - all day the next day she was doing poo, so we held off for another few days before trying again. Her system is adjusting better now and we're back to more regular poos, even though they have changed quite a bit - no longer resembling scrambled egg at all!
ECing has copped a beating this week due to the move, but we're still nappy free overnight. Daytimes has seen her in terry flats and wetting them cos I've been packing or moving or unpacking and storing (into MiL's place) and missing cues left right and centre. She even had one pooey nappy - I've spoilt myself and her and we're not used to smeary poo bums anymore!
She's getting around like a demon and really keen on cruising, but has to get more crawling action in first...she needs to bring her goals in a bit closer
Better make the most of her sleeping time to do some online shopping (dog flea treatments way cheaper online than at the vet!) and a loo trip (such a luxury with a 3&3/4 yo running around at teh same time!!).
have a gorgeous weekend, the weather is divine here!
Ery, we aren't quite 3 weeks into BLS and DD has had the following:
Broccoli- steamed, Green beans and snow peas- blanched, Baby corn- blanched
Pumpkin- steamed or roasted, Capsicum- raw or roasted, Toast with banana or avocado
Asparagus spears, Banana, Avocado
Lamb cutlets (DDs favourite atm)
Yoghurt, Apple, Zucchini- roasted or steamed
Carrot- roasted or steamed, Noodles- although these just got wrapped around her arm like a bangle , Potato or 'chips'- roasted
English muffins with cottage cheese (big winner too)
DD with a cutlet in one hand biting into it whilst shaking her heads to break chunks off was last nights entertainment
Wow it sounds like all the bubbas are doing really well, moving around, getting teeth, solids they are growing so fast....you guys will all be TTC your next one before we know it Miss Skybie is the only one game enough (or silly enough lol) to start already. Wishing you all the best with that Skybie.
Erybery: Glad to hear Ella is sleeping better must be a big relief for you hun.
Maya: Hope the moving process is relatively painless for you, I hate moving.
Lilydust: Just picturing DD with a lamb cutlet gnawing away how cute.
LJ: How is William settling now, hope he is being a good boy for mummy and you are able to get some rest.
Miss Laicee is doing really well she is sooooo much fun and keeps us all very amused for hours she is going to be so spoilt....oh well the last one. She has been battling a chest infection for a couple of weeks and is on her second dose of abs which seems to be working. She loves food in any way shape or form lol and will take it from spoon, or finger food however she can get it and chucks a tanty if it isnt coming fast enough.
Hi to all the other girls: Oz. Jen, V, Butterfly Mummy, DM, and everyone else lol
Will catch up again soon I am as we all are very busy with bubs plus the other 3. 4 kids certainly keep me busy. Take care all and keep smilin xxx
Ery we havn't tried much with DD yet mostly fruit. We will be going down the same path as LD though. There are some threads on here in the solids section, you should have a look. How is Miss Ella doing?
Maya my DD is much the same as T with banana. Hope you got all your online shopping done.
DD is now commando crawling, well dragging her legs behind her, everywhere. She is up on the hands and knees rocking away but hasnt figured out how to move her arms yet. Just today she started going from hands and knees to sitting position, not that she can sit very well lol. I am just loving this age and loving having my two close together, DS is such a wonderful big brother and its a joy to watch them together (for now anyway lol).
Hey girls,
Surprise surprise, i havent been on in ages, since Leo was born back in October, so sorry for being MIA, have been so busy with the two boys and i lost the link and luckily i was given the link
How are you all going??? I know i keep in touch with a few of you on FB but its nice to come back on here and write more about day to day stuff...
I'm loving being a mummy of two boys, Leo is such a chubba and has brought so much happiness in our lives.. He took us over a year to have him so we are very blessed, anyway my cycles didnt really fix them selves up after i had Leo, if anything they are just as bad, DH and i have decided to try for baby #3, we have been trying for a few months but with no luck, i had my FS appt on tuesday and finally i am back on clomid so hopefully my BFP isnt to far away (FB friends, its a secret we are TTC)
Anyone else TTC so soon????
Anyway girls i hope you are all well and i look forward to catching up with you all, once again sorry i was MIA for so long, i have been thinking of you all..
Great to hear from you, BM!!
No fricken way are we TTC! Won't be for another 3 years, either! I just got my pelvis back and I'd like to appreciate it's normal functioning, for one For two, the age gap we have now is about as minimum as I can handle. Of course, should it happen sooner I'll just have to suck it up. Plus, T will be less hard work in these coming years than DS has been (in comparison, DS is HIGH octane!!), so it won't be the end of my world if we do fall pg before my ideal gap. Add to that the fact that the way I breastfeed, co-sleep and baby wear, I reckon it will take about 2 and a bit years again to start getting my period again.
Well, T has started furniture cruising. Friggin marvellous...like it's not bad enough her brother is tearing apart his grandmother's house and garden! I thought she was taking her time, but with today's action that I witnessed (climbing up to vertical using the change table leg) she's tracking exactly the same as DS. Bugger.
Better get onto some online banking before I forget to do it (playgroup fees) adn then hit the sack, I have been shattered all week and don't want to drive more than 5 minutes from home cos I've been fading at the wheel
Oz - yes, got my doggy things, my online yoghurt (I do the Easiyo yoghurt) and then later bought some cute stationery (completely frivolous, but I reckon one of these creche days, when T sleeps, I'm gonna write to the one or two rellos who aren't on email!!). How's the business? I thought of you on Tuesday when I met up with my photographer for an ABA shoot!
Hope you all have great weekends and have been well!! xxx
Mayaness: I couldnt stop laughing at your "I just got my pelvis back and I'd like to appreciate it's normal functioning" quote.... I so know what you mean, honestly i think if leo didnt take us so long to concieve we probably wouldnt have started TTC just yet either, but the odds are stacked against us thanks to my silly cycles, and since we want one more we thought it was best we start ttc early cause who knows how long it will take (did that even make any sense) sorry baby brains still hanging around and i dont think they are leaving any time soon..
Leo is commando crawling every where, DS1 didnt do half the stuff leo is doing at this age, He also has two bottom teeth and he seems to be a very active little boy already, he is a happy bubba, he still wakes up once a night for a feed, not BF anymore unfortunatly, milk supply stopped at 4 months, but i was lucky enough to do it for that long with DS1 i didnt even make it to 1 month, so for me it was a huge achievment to get so far.
Has anyone returned to work yet?? I was suppose to start in June but i found out last week that i lost my job due to financial garbage, that was thier excuse anyway, they knew i wanted 3 kids and they are probably afraid to pay me maternity leave next time... Oh well i always wanted to be a SAHM i guess my dream has come true now.
nina- I am trying to get signed up and even did all the steps (security settings like you said Maya)and then it said people can still google me, so I chickened out Havent had a spare second since to go back on and have a good read so when I do, I will sign up and PM you. Im ridiculously paranoid Im afraid lmao! I hope Laicee is feeling much better after the chest infection, poor little chook, they seem so helpless when they are sick.
Maya- how do you cue T? You stay safe in that car hun and get some rest . Was thinking of you when my Essence mag showed up this month, the bit about writing in about your experience with tongue tie and BFing, did you see it?
Dedicated_mummy great to hear from you hun. Hope all is well x
butterfly.mummy- I will await your with great excitement as well. Im so pleased being a mummy twice around is going so well for you, that is just fantastic. Sorry to hear about the job, can they actually do that though?
skybie- Mad or not I think its great news and it will be worth it for your family. Still waiting.....
cam- How you going with the sleeping hun?
Im pretty impressed as Miss J is crawling, only thing is its backwards . Thankfully that is the result of the wonder week from hell (lasted about 5 weeks) and I could do nothing but cry along with her. We wont be TTC anytime soon, DD was the result of 5 years of IVF that never worked and then she just implanted her little self naturally in there and started growing away bringing with her hyperemisis, so Im a bit terrified of being pregnant anyway, besides to be honest atm Im struggling with this whole thing . Its everything I ever wanted as a person and atm DD and I are just clashing, both too strong willed I suppose . Anyway Im not gonna whinge anymore about it in here, theres places to do that iykwim!
Big hugs to you all and as soon as Im game enough for FB will let you know lol.
LD, im pretty sure theres a securtiy setting hwere u cant be googled, and even if u can be googled noone can contact u or see ur pics willy nilly.
Thats no good u guys are clashing! it does get like that sometimes ad all u can do is cry with them. its been a bit like that here with iz getting frustrated and teething.
totally understand why u dnt want another 1 just yet, that little miss put u through heaps!
have bombed out this month. try again next month, not too sure about a feb bub though....mighty hot down here in feb!
