Question Normal Behaviour at this age??

DD HATES having anything on her hands. She could get the slightest bit of crayon/dust/dirt/grass anything on her hands and she will kick and scream until you wipe it off or give her something to wipe it off. She HAS to have a piece of paper towel or washer sitting next to her when she eats meals so if she gets food on them she can wipe it off and again, if you forget to give it to her - all hell breaks lose.

Is this kind of behaviour normal for this age? I wouldn't say i've been protective over this kind of thing - in fact i encourage her play in the dirt/sand etc.

Feel like I'm following you tonight lol.

My DD's little friend is exactly like that. She's 4 but she's always been the same with it.

    My DS is the same...

I made that 'goop' stuff for him out of cornflour and water, and lets just say I got WAY more enjoyment out of it!

Jazz is like that, she comes up to us with her hands stretched out and this totally concerned look on her face it's HILARIOUS! I thought it was just my little weirdo, but I'm feeling better knowing she's not the only OCD 1yo out there!

Jack (almost 2) isn't really like that, but Mitchell (my 9 year old) always has been. He has always hated having dirty hands. Even now he has to have a cloth next to him when he is eating dinner, LOL. He will come home from a game of footy in the mud and jump straight in the shower while his friends go and ride their bikes still covered in dirt. I'm glad he likes to be clean.

My DD does that, and has for a while..

She had chocolate on her fingers tonight, and she wanted me to get it off, and she did an inspection, and sure enough, I had missed a speck

Ava is similar and is only just a little younger than your DD... the odd thing is she is happy to play in the dirt, get muddy etc but at random times she kicks and screams and flaps her hands around until i wipe whatever it is off.... sometimes i only 'pretend' to wipe and she's happy.

Maybe it is just a stage?

Yeah my DD1 is like that as well. Not only that but she has this whole "personal space" thing going on. OMG, if you invade in her space without her initiating it (ie, for a cuddle) she'll let you know about it.
