Christening went well, there were 3 kids there getting done and Emily was the youngest. I've noticed ppl seem to be doing it later. Vicar is great he really gets all the kids there involved, took them to look at the windows and explain the picture, got them to all stand round the baptisimal bowl (if thats what is called) and explained about blessing the water etc. Really nice.
Lots cleaning up afterwards! had everyone here for BBQ and to watch the Anzac day footy (poor Bombers, Df is quite sad, so would you be Olive!)

Ali- how is your friend doing?

Meg- how is J? Is he eating drinking yet? pain setytled?

Det- how is your son doing?

    shell-glad the christening went well!!
looking forward to seeing some photos on facebook

glad you are feeling a bit better olive

Hope your son is getting better slowly lilima- they say for every hour they are under GA- it is a week to get it out of their system- hope things improve soon!!!

    Hi to everyone!!!

all starting to settle here finally
DS1 had another operation on wednesday- turns out a sheath of skin had grown over part of his uretha! there were amazed that he could pee at all- explains the constant infections and troubles he has had!
They took out the supra pubic cathether but put a urethral cath in instead- has to be in for another 2 weeks- GREAT NOT!!!
He hasnt been at school since a week before easter!!!!

On top of everything- i cracked it at their school for various reasons and pulled them out! DD started at her new school tues and DS1 is hopefully going tommorow if his cath behaves!! I was soo disappointed that i had to pull them out, but it had to be done. Their old principal is at the new school and she is awesome - and their needs will be well and truly met!

My nan is still in hossy but my mum is back from cairns which helps a bit! They put 3 stents in her heart! My tooth is 70 % -i can open my mouth up now phew and my FIL gets operated on 11th May and my mum the 17 th may!!
DS1 back at hossy next tues to hopefully get the cath out for good-so then things should start to be back to normal a bit more!!!!!!!!

so thats it in a nutshell!!
life is certainly a rollercoaster at the moment!
    btw boof is ace
    stay sane girls
cant wait to have a boring life again!!!

Det, glad to hear things are improving at your house! Itr has been a very rough time for you all.

Shell - yay on the christening going well. I can't wait to see pics too

AFU - Miss J has all 4 molars through now and is running everywhere! The bonus is that she is so tired from running that she is sleeping like a champ and going down for naps with no complaints - I am completely amazed but loving it. She is going through a good and happy phase at the moment so I am enjoying it while it lasts.

Det- glad things are settling, how is your nan recovering post op? Did DS start at the new school? Go ok?

I bought Emily her first pair shoes now she is so on the move and weather getting bit cooler, she thinks they're quite strange, I remember Ash being the same, walking like concrete on her feet.

Miss J has just been wearing DD1's cast offs with shoes. She is walking really well in them though. What size shoes are yours in? Miss J is wearing size 2 at the moment.

Is it just me or does anyone else find if they post that their baby is doing really well eg. sleep-wise the next night they have a crap night almost like they want to prove you wrong? Miss J has been so good lately and last night was a shocker! We have been up since 4.30am Grrrr!

    Hi ladies,

Go away for a week and new thread - woooo!

Olive - glad your gastro is gone and you're feeling better! Are you going to reschedule your weekend away?

Nai - yes I know what you mean about jinxing good behaviour. It is so unpredictable ATM... We've got one molar, another on the way. Go Miss J with her running!! Oh and Isabel is in size 4 shoes!!!!

Shell - glad the christening went well! Interesting about them all being older than Em... we did DD at 6mths!

Det - I miss you! Sounds like craziness at your place ATM. Will have to catch up properly soon hun!

Lilima - how is DS?? Hope the tummy pain has settled

I'm sure there was more but I can't see back to the other thread...

AFU: I had a big argument with my sister on Thursday night.., basically centred around the fact that I was considering putting DD into child care for this Thurs (tomorrow) and next, because I think my sis is struggling to look after three kids (my niece, nephew and DD). First of all she accused me of being a selfish mother by putting myself first (as I'd said it was getting too hard for us taking DD out to her house three times a week) and I was not considering DD and what was best for her, then she said that I'm basically saying she doesn't look after DD well enough when she is at her house.

I told her thanks for supporting my parenting decisions and not judging me at all, walked off and had a good cry. We are very close so it really stung that she would judge me like that... especially when part of it was trying to be relieve some of the pressure on her. Ah well.

Turns out its probably all for nothing anyway as my fantastic in laws are coming home sooner than we'd thought (they've been interstate) and they will be able to take DD again, which is way more preferable than CC.

That was Thurs night... Fri lunch time DH and I went down to my IL's beach house with some friends (and DD of course) for the long weekend, which was sooo much hard work - just because it is my house and I have invited some friends down, does not mean I am the host and am expected to clean up after all of them... I was exhausted by Monday night after having to cook, clean, etc... they all did some of the cooking but basically DH and I had to run around after all of them as well as our DD. So tiring. My back was killing me all the way home and I was stuffed yesterday!

I spent yesterday doing washing - all the new stuff for DD's bed, so we can try and transition her out of the cot. Don't know how that is going to go... we will see! Can't believe my little baby is going to be sleeping in a big bed soon!

what time did she go doen for a sleep?

as for shoes M is a larger foot than S, at the same age S was a 3.5 and M is a 5!!

    Haha Olive sorry hun

Didn't mean to make it so massive... just that the fight with my sis really upset me and then the weekend was exhausting and you girls will understand both!!!!

Just realised I didn't mention DD much... her sleeping is still really variable, some days/nights are great, some are absolute rubbish. I've given up.

OP sorry to hear you had a fight have you spoken since? your only looking ourt for the best interests of all involved.
id be very unhappy with your friends if i were you too! how rude of them

as for DD and big bed, get two bed rails, one larger and one smaller so it goes down the length of the bed so she cant get out! thats what we did for S when she went into a bed, though she was older at 2 yrs.

im giving up on sleep too!

Interesting, I hadn't thought about getting a rail that goes right down the bed. We've got a mesh barrier thing that goes about half way down... will see what I can find for the length of the bed. We've got a trundle mattress for underneath so that should prevent any major injuries while she adjusts!

    Thanks for understanding

Yes we've spoken, I saw her on Friday morning at our music playgroup and we just pretended everything was ok. Her DD has been sick (roseola i think) so I've just been focussing on that rather than the dreaded C word... that'd be childcare by the way!

Out there for dinner tonight so I'll see if it comes up again...
