    Question How many?..

..Boxes of newborn nappies did you go through before having to go up a size?

I am wanting to stock up on some so we wont have to buy any for a while.

Hmm, I can't really remember TBH. Maybe buy 3 or 4 boxes. And you can always keep the receipt to exchange any unused boxes. I think the infant size is 4-6 kilo's so it doesn't take long for them to fit into that next size.

I would just go with one or two boxes of newborn nappies, maybe more of the next size up.
You don't know how big bub will be... DD2 only fit newborn nappies for a couple of weeks

Of course you could always swap them at the supermarket if you have the wrong size. But you migh tfind it a PITA to get out & about in the first few weeks.

    Re: How many?..

Depends on the baby, with dd1 she was a premmie and was in newborn for 12 months. With dd2 it was about three of the jumbo boxes. She was in the next size up for about 6 months though.

Yeah depends on the baby. A 9 pounder wont be in them as long as a 5 pounder. I got 4 box's for dd and she was born 7lb12oz and i had a few left over (mayb 20 or so) when i changed size. The left overs went to my neice for her baby dolls lol

DD3 was 3.7 kg when born and went through almost 2 boxes before she moved up a size. We knew it was time to switch up when the nappies were rubbing on her thighs, poor thing. It only took 3 weeks for her to move up to next size as I was grateful i'd stocked up beforehand so didn't have to lug all the kids out just for nappies!

DS1 was 7l5 9oz and I wouldn't have said he was a fast grower, but not slow either... we went through 2 boxes before we went next size up.

DS2 was 7lb 5 oz, but we used cloth with him.

I would get 2 boxes only, and one of the next size up. It is impossible to tell beforehand how long they will be in each size for. If you are worried about money to buy them when the time comes, then just put some money away each week so you don't have to find $40 each week or so. My lot weren't in them for long - my boys were out of them by 2wks old but the girls were 4-5wks old. DS1 quickly moved out of the next size too and was onto the crawler nappies by 2 months old.

Huggies have changed their sizing now so the newborns ones are up to 5kg, infant 4-8kg ifthat helps at all.

    Thanks heaps

I was thinking between 2-3 but i think i will buy 2 and go for a few of the next size up, if need be i can just buy smaller packets.

In the very first few weeks i dont want to be running around, id like to be at home with my bubba getting to know her.

Yeah, get the big ones and then a smaller one because it is a PITA to be stuck with leftovers.

if your going to stay home get your hands on some terry flats and covers. that way you wont have to worry about sizing ect.
    AND
The money you save on not using disposables can go towards paying of something important off.
