Black Forest Cake

I am looking to bake/make a Black Forest Cake. I have Googled for it and there are soooo many versions/recipes, so was wondering if anyone has made one before and has a good recipe that I can have?

I have a good recipe from a Family Circle Classic Essential Chocolate cookbook (a mini one) but too long for me to type! If you want it, PM me your email and I will scan and email. I just did a google search but couldn't find one similar. Mine is lovely- I made it for mum for her birthday but it is quite simple.

i just make a choc spongs cake. cut into three layers, spread blackcurrent jam on one, cream on the second and choc frosting on the last. put together then cover in whipped cream, sprinkle with choc. It probably not a real blackforrest but everyone loves it.

Since Master Chef just made one the other night there will be one up on their website. It looked pretty good and I am not a Black Forest Cake fan. It's in the pressure test recipe part of the website.

Thanks Lisa for that recipe - I did make KatieRabbits one & it turned out really good, although it took me nearly 3 hours lol! If I need a 'quick' cake that is yummt I will use yours.

Heather - I saw the MC episode & it looked awesome, although the pralene (sp?) was questionable.
