Lovin' the gym!!! No looking back now...

I'm so happy, I have been going to the gym for nearly two months now and I loooOOooOoove going. It's so much fun. I have never been able to get into it before, always been a dropout due to tiredness, kids etc. But now the kids are both at school and I am working on this stubborn iron issue of mine, I am loving it.

I picked a gym that really appealed to me, love the modern ones with loads of facilities, luckily a new one has popped up in my area, so the cardio machines all have their own tv with foxtel, and the changerooms have everything you could think of (whats with the hair straighteners in all the gyms now!!). I just watch the screen if I need a distraction but normally it's just music for me.

I feel so much better. My skin feels even softer than it did before (I get loads of compliments on my skin as is, but now, its softer!) I feel like I look less stressed, less tired and even a little brighter. I can really feel my self esteem picking itself off the floor too and I care less about how I look. I feel lighter even though I am not really losing alot of weight but I can see much more definition and tone - I really lacked alot of muscle tone due to lack of activity. So the numbers don't bother me, I can see and feel the results

I really love my time there - some of you will know I am a huge trance fan, so I pump up the music loud (love my great earphones - Sennheiser in-ear earphones ROCK) and it makes me want to go harder and faster, pushes me to keep going! And even doing that is getting easier, today I thought I did a crap workout because it was too easy (even pumped up the incline and speed to make sure I didnt waste my workout) yet my workout results showed I did heaps more than normal. So can't wait to go hard next time. Love the feeling after a workout

Far out Kel, what gym is it that has hair straighteners? I WANNA JOIN!

I remember going to the gym when I used to have a membership - I used to get stressed out if I didn't get there for a week, coz I hadn't had my downtime. One has just opened up down the road from me, and I've been looking into a membership, not sure if we can afford it just yet....

Good one!!! I wish I had the time to be addicted to the gym again... Oh how I miss you... One day the kids will be bigger and I can get back into it... Nothing better than zoning out on the music and working so hard you cant breathe.

So pleased you are getting something out of it, and your gym does sound great. xo

Thanks guys! It is harder when you have little ones to care for during the day, and as much as I love my kids, with both of them in school now, I have a huge sense of self back. I didn't really have much family around them raising them, so they were clingy and I never had much me time at all. But it does come around, trust me And it's goooooooood

Yay Kelly! I love it too.
I started going again when DD was 8wks.
I go once during the week and DS2 calls it his 'different creche', he enjoys it as he knows it's only 1.5hrs and DD just charms pants off the other carer's.
I then go on a Sunday morning to a Body Attack class.
It's such a routine for me that I feel guilty if I don't go

Not so hooked on going to a gym but am definitely hooked on my forms of exercise - soccer (loooove it!) and jogging in between. I love the feeling of being an active healthy person who is in control of her own body! And I love seeing the improvement in my times or skills. Nice post Kelly!

Absolutely, totally hooked here! Total gym junkie as much as I can. I've done 6 workouts this week, looking forward to w'end off, but can't wait for Monday's training to start again!

Come and join us in the Fitness Chat thread, there's a whole bunch of us exercise junkies chatting about what we're up to, keeping each other motivated and there's a couple of PTs for training advice.

I joined a couple of weeks ago and haven't been in about 3 years. Not quite at the hooked stage, more like the "ouch, I can barely walk after that body pump class" stage! I'll get there though. It's only been 2 weeks.
Love your enthusiasm... it's a great feeling when you really start to see the benefits of all your hard work.
