OK so it has been ages since i have found the time to get on here and now i find that the reason i am asking for advice is something that i never thought would happen.....
last night...my husband left me...i dont know why it was a "its not you its me" answer that i got.
Anyway - so he came and got all his clothes today so i am just assuming that it is well and truly obver with no hope for reconciliation.
So my question/s are as follows:
I will have sole custody of our little one. Now that he has left the house the household income will go from almost $8000 a month to just $2500 (at a stretch).
so that will be my income from my fulltime paid employment. would i be entitled to any help from centrelink?? i dont get anything right now but with the car payment of 380 a month, rent of 1100 a month and the other utilities and insurances on top ofthat i dont know what i amgoing to do....
if it is possible that C/link would help me...what am i going to need to show themthat he has moved out? he is still on the leaseand i havent spoken to him since last night...so i dont knowwhat is going on at all....
and on another note....will i ever ever stop crying??
First things first, ring Centrelink on 136150 and let them know what's happened. They will go through the eligibility criteria for FTB A & B, Parenting Payment Single and Rent Assistance. Once they go through the eligibility criteria, if it looks like you might be eligible, they'll go through a quick interview with you and send you out all the paperwork.
If you want to have a look at the eligibility criteria before ringing them, it's here: Payments to help you raise children
Sending you huge hugs hun. I really hope things work out for you.
Yes call centrelink.
Based on the figures you have indicated and not knowing anything else its hard to say, but you should be entitled to (for next financial year anyway)
FTBA, FTBB, rent assistance, CCB and Child support
I assume when you call FAO they will refer you to child supprt agency but Im not sure.
Based on his income though youshould be entitled to a reasonable amount of child support.
ooops, forgot about the Child Support bit. They can transfer you through to Child Support after interviewing you over the phone if that's what you'd like.
