    Thumbs up Good Winter cookbooks

Does anyone know of aany good winter cookbooks/recipes that include low gi meals also??

I am TRYING to be more of a wifey and cook proper winter meals

    Idea's suggestions?

Oh - they also have to be pretty easy to make and not so time consuming we only have 3.5 hours to do homework and chores by the time we get home (i keep a strict routine)

We dont have a tuckerbox/chest freezer so I can't even freeze meals

NaeNae - I work full-time, and a slow cooker is brilliant. If you have issues with leaving them cooking all day, then you can get ones that are designed for camping and don't actually need to be plugged in (but need more time in the morning to get them going).

There's the "working mums" series and "after-dinner healthy" mini-cookbooks available at woolies (usually near the checkouts) which are great. Comfort food though is usually slow cooked (oven or SCer) but you can do soups etc easily, and a creamy polenta meal with tomato sauce or spaghetti & meatballs is also easy ...

We're enjoying Julie Goodwin's cookbook (Julie won MasterChef last year). Good, homely meals that are pretty easy. DH is cooking up a roast tonight. Mmmmm...

I'm tempted by the slow cooker idea though...

Karen Martini's "Where the Heart Is" is a great. Loads of simple recipes using fresh beautiful ingredients.
