    Question URGENT2 tier cake question!!!

I am making the cakse bases tonight for my birthday lunch on sunday but the cake is two tier......My dilemma is that the batter is made as one big batch and then it tells you to pour it into a 20cm and 24cm cake tins but doesnt tell me how much for each cake tin.....I dont want one being higher then the other.....

Can anyone tell me how I can measure it out so they arent completely two different heights cause of the two different size tins??

Maybe fill the tins and measure how much space is left at the top of each tin then make them even (does that make sense?)

I don't think it would matter whether one is slightly higher than the other. You can cut the bigger one down to be the same height as the other one.

We usually try and fill a tin 3/4 full. That way it leaves enough room to rise. If it ends up one is higher than the other once baked, you can always carve one down.. as you will need to carve them flat anyways before stacking.

    Best of luck.
