I'm interested in becoming a teachers aide but not really sure how I go about gaining a position like this? Does anyone have any information about how to do this?
I'm a qualified Youth Worker ATM but am interested in changing directions into education.
Is there some course that I have to do? Who do I approach - schools themselves or is it through DET I have to go?
Hi hun, I will ask the teachers aides that are in my class who work with a child with downs syndrome and another with autism. They also work with children who are DOC's cases at our school. They work so hard and have so much patience.
I'll ask them some questions on Monday to try and get that info and give you a call.
I can see you being great in that area and have a great background with all of your experience being a youth worker.
there are different ways to become a School Learning Support Officer - note fancier name- all of them not too difficult or I wouldn't be here! There is a TAFE course, not compulsory but preferred by some schools.
She also says that she will talk to me more about it tomorrow so I will fill you in then, x
