You are going to think I am crazy but....

How do I get DD (15mths) to go back to falling asleep in my arms or the pram???

We are going to Fiji soon and for DD to go to sleep she needs to be in a dark room with the door shut.

Its not going to be possible all the time and I am scared of her missing her day sleeps as it happened on Sunday as we were out all day and she was MISS CRANKY PANTS by the arvo but refused to even sleep in the porta cot at our friends house!!!!

Does anyone have any tips to getting her to fall asleep on me again or in her pram?

FWIW she has never fallen asleep in the pram even though it is cozy with a sheep skin rug in it, has a canopy and reclines all the way.

Does she have a bottle with milk? Is that a calming thing for her?
I guess being firm and making sure she knows it sleep time?

Not really the best with this type of thing...

I normally give her a bottle before sleep and can do the same while away but when I give it to her in my arms it is like she is all refreshed after the bottle and gets a second wind. I think I am screwed. LOL!

sleep her in her portacot inher room with a blanket or sheet set that shes already using so it smells familiar. each sleep open the curtains so a tiny amount of light is coing through and gradually keep opening them until shes sleeping in a fully lit room.
keep using the portacot tll she's sleeping in it then move it to another room, again with sheets/blanket that smells like her

Thats a good idea. Thanks hun. I have 10 weeks to get her used to it. Then I will probably have to re-train her back into her current sleep habits! LOL!

he cant move much and he gets warm, comfy and voila- sleep through boredom!!!

No matter what you do to prepare I always have found chn are different on holidays anyway with their sleeps and routines. I think they cope really well with change and adapt to where you are. We took DD away when she was 14 months and I worried for so long about it then found that everything just fell into place itself and she didn't stick to any of her home routines or habits anyway!

DD is the same, never sleeps in her pram! loves her dark room, but recently she has slept in the pram, about 2 hours after normal sleep time but she was to tired! i just tucked her in and went for a walk till she was asleep. i guess just keep the routine the same but put her down in the pram and try to go somewhere quiet for half an hour! or a carrier might be good, dd would always sleep in the sling! gl
