tips and hints re: menstral cups

I got one a few months ago...this is only my 2nd cycle wearing it (i have a 'keeper') and im still trying to work it out. Which I expected it to take a while to get use to etc..

I often get a little bit of leakage...but the cup isnt even half full when i change it, so i dont know if its because i'm on a weird angle??

Im also a little confused... the instructions with it say it should sit lower than a tampon, and not touch the cervix/be near it, but everything i've read about other people using theirs they put theirs right up high...is this what theirs told them to do? or just what people have found is more comfortable and works?

Any other tips or hints or advice re: using one of these??? I'm really keen to have this as my primary ...thing.. but i'm still finding myself just putting tampon in so i dont have to worry about it and its easier. and i still dont trust myself/it at night.

You might need to experiment a bit to see what works best for you. I found it took a few cycles to get the hang of it. Some people do seem to have them higher or lower - just so long as it's comfortable and works, then I guess it's ok.
It's hard to give specific advice, because I think everyone's bodies are different

I'm using a cup for the first time - YAY! Thought I'd resurrect this thread instead of starting another one.

So, I don't know how y'all get your cups out without the stems. I've only been wearing it a couple days so maybe I'll get better, but I can't reach to pinch the bottom, the only thing I can do is tug on the stem and break the suction by pulling it different ways. Needless to say, it takes a while and a few goes to get it out!

The other thing I'm having a problem with is flushing the blood. 3 flushes this morning, and there's still stuff in the bottom of the toilet. I really don't know how to get rid of it. Any tips?

ATM I put my finger up the side and hook it round the top to break suction and pull out pointer on top edge and thumb on bottom , maybe throw a few bits of toilet paper to absorbs the blood and then flush

I have no idea on this either I am not sure can do anything apart from soak into a tissue and then flush because will always sink to bottom due to density. I just ignore it as don't like using paper as reduces environmental friendliness of cup.

so I gsve up on my keeper, but have restarted with the cup and used it for the last 5? cycles.
I got one with a ring, easy to grab and the stem on my old one hurt me. I guess it wouldbe practice K, I have long fingers and put one leg on something (loo, bath, sink) and squat and makesit real easy to reach the top and my cervix so I can see if it is positioned right.
I have the same with the blood on bottom of loo but it doesn't bother me (dh hasn't commented)

Ours is the guest toilet, I don't mind for me but I don't want the guests to think one of us is terribly sick!

Apart from those two things, I love it. For the first time EVER this morning, I woke up, stood up, and didn't 'birth' a huge clot or two. It's unbelievable!

To remove it I find that if I use my muscles to push it a tiny bit it moves down so I can pinch the bottom more easily.

This is what I do too.

Yep, I bear down but it's still not enough. Combination of short stubby fingers, fat guts, and chubby labia methinks. Embarrassing, but there it is.

Can you stick one finger up beside it to break the suction?
