    very proud moment!

i am so proud of my little boy, he went to the doctors just a couple of days before his first birthday, he wasnt crawling yet nor sitting up, doctor said if he didnt pick up he wanted to see him again, well i am proud to say in a matter of not even a month he's now crawling, sitting himself up, and furniture walking on his knee's! i told everyone he could do it, its just he's taking his time, he's always been like that since birth lol, and thought i would have a proud mummy moment he's now exaclty 1yr1month and has been doing this for at least a couple of weeks!
one thing he doesnt do is eat lumps lol, his big brother was the same until 18 months so not worried their, lumps are horrible to try and chew down when you only have two bottom teeth i guess lol, but he did eat a fredo or two ! must of been really wanting one, cause he watches his brother eat them!
i love watching him zoom about the room, and when he sits himself up he claps at us cause he knows we are very proud! he's a big boy too, weighing at least 11kg and just in size two's almost as big as his older brother and my niece! i think he has the tall genes he's very long, and not chubby just solid!
also just writing cause i know other mums and dads worry when kids dont do things at ages others might and i am appauled that the doctor didnt trust what my mothers instinct is, it just shows you we usually know best!

Well done little man. It can be so stressful when you have outside influences telling you what your baby 'should' be doing. I haven't bothered with MCHN or the doc for DD2. Too many bad experiences. Good on you for staying calm and trusting your instincts

thanks, only take kids to doctors for when their sick or their needles, i dont go to the health nurse either, i was told off for giving DS 1 food before 6 months! but when his bottles were not filling him, i knew he was still hungry.
my little boy, he did rolling and other things "on time" and for him rolling was fast! i've always said you cant rush kids into doing things, need to take things when they want to do them, we did encourage him thou, by clapping each time he was doing something good, or new first he was army crawling then within a week normal crawling.
it can be horrible when outsiders tell you something might be wrong, it would upset me, but he's 100% normal he just felt like giving people something to talk about lol! now its getting him to eat lumps and finger food, i have him on very thick puree food, but the teenyest lump and he knows, hes a clever boy!

he also proved me wrong, i had him for dinner very thick food (turnt the bowl upside down and it stayed put) and their were teeny tiny lumps from the mince and he ate it! well i am so happy he is taking small steps forwards, its better than nothing. next step getting him to feed himself well give it a go anyway, he loves being fed by others but would like him to give it a try might make him abit more confident with eating too. i know ds1 got more confidence from doing things himself.
