Oh goodness ladies I must be the slackest poster in this thread! I do read all your posts tho from my iPhone. It's hard to do long replies and it doesn't help that I won't go in my office because I saw a mouse in there! So I'm cut off from my desk top.

Ha, ha, Jaki. Did you see the mouse at your work desk, or home office?

Hiya, Renee. I posted to you in the other thread.

Quick question....off to acupuncture for first time in 3 weeks due him going on holiday, can I still lie on my back for the session...normally about 40 minutes now? I haven't been lying on my back in bed for about 2-3 weeks as I know it's not recommended, but any ideas? He of course will know having dealt with many, many pregnant girls but just thought I'd ask.

Trying to remember when my acupuncturist started having me semi-sitting (she raises the head of the table/bed thingo) I think I went in at about 15 weeks and she raised me, must have been about then cause I think I've had 3 or 4 raised sessions now and I'm going monthly.

Airline, I went a few weeks ago to an acupuncturist and I was propped up with pillows underneath my neck and shoulders and one pillow underneath my knees.

airline, sorry I didn't get a chance to respond earlier (crappy day at work). I went to acupuncture last weekend (21w3d) and was still lying on my back. She has put a pillow/bolster under my knees the last two times (I'm only going every three weeks at the moment, so the previous visit was at 18w3d). She did raise the table once at around 13wks, but only because I had awful heartburn that day.

    Hi to everyone else!

Afm, was stressed out over work this morning and had a small meltdown in the shower. I wish I could have stayed home, but the stress would have just been waiting on Monday... I spent all morning going over this problem I'm having with a more senior colleague and he's as stumped as me, so I feel a lot better about it now.

Juniper, I think meltdowns are part and parcel of being UTD. Those damn PG hormones! It's been pretty easy for me to turn on the waterworks this entire PG and ATM I am so short-tempered with anyone who annoys me - and these annoying people seem to be in abundance I'm sure you'll sort out your work problem. Two heads are better than one, as the saying goes.

AFM, I am so excited. My DH has picked up everything we had laybied for the nursery! Woo hoo! So it's all sitting at home waiting for us to set it up over the weekend. He wanted to have it all done for me as a surprise today, but I said no way, it's my nest and I need to be involved in its feathering

Hey ladies, I've been MIA but have just read back over the last few pages to try to catch up.

Renee, I'm really sorry about your Grandfather and hope that the funeral was a lovely tribute to his life.

Airline, what a pity your MS is still hanging around. And great that you and DH were able to DTD after the drought!

Re lying on your back or not, I went for a facial (first one in about a year) about a fortnight ago (so would have been about 27weeks) and did the 30mins on my back. I'm sure it's fine for short periods. They say that you're okay until the point that you start feeling breathless, then you should raise yourself or turn onto your left side.

Brunette, you worried me a bit when a few pages back you mentioned you had put on nearly 10kg.... I've hit the 10kg mark (at 28week weigh in last weekend) and I've only got 1 little munchkin in here. I think I'm tracking for about 15kg all up which is probably about 2kg over where I wanted to end up. How's your carpal tunnel? Another pregnancy side effect I've skipped, considering my current job is a lot of data entry.

anyway, I'll try to post more over the weekend. I have antenatal class #1 on Saturday, and will try to clean out a bit more of the nursery to make room for DH to paint.

    Have a good weekend ladies!

Thanks girls... last minute as always me, so I posted question then had to go half hour later to acu appt. ! Anyway, was on my back and was fine. I guess I'm not sure if I'm not supposed to feel well lying on my back or if it's bad for bubba. Anyway chilled out as always, and woke myself with a gentle snort at one point ;-)

CK good to see you back. How exciting antenatal class today...let us know how you guys went. I know what you mean about cleaning out the nursery, mine was FULL of craft stuff everywhere, ironing to be done, boxes of stuff for carboot sale (still not had it 2 months later), DHs keyboard....yeh, no idea where that's going etc.

Brunette...you have a lovely weekend planned setting up all the stuff!! If the weather is like it is here in Brissy it's the perfect kind, cool and wet, just the kind you want to be inside, warm and dry.

    Hello to everyone else...

afm, some might remember I had part 1 of 3 parts of root canal work on my tooth, days before my transfer. The dentist was great, said it should last the pregnancy and then he could xray and finish after bubba was born. I got an infection, which antibiotics cleared up quickly, but now it's hurting again. I told the receptionist (gatekeeper, like at the FS) and she said oh he can see you in 2 weeks!!!!!! :-( So I said I'd take any cancelled appt. and have been considering just going and sitting in waiting room in case there's a gap when someone's late and I can be seen. I'm also worried I've not been cleaning as well cos of the constant heaving/retching/nausea malarky.

On the good side, I got my hair coloured (all my books said it's ok to do it, but I thought I'd wait till past 12 wks) and finally I feel a bit more normal when I look in the mirror. Bit of pampering goes a long way hey?! DH working weekend so I'm gonna iron and watch Desperate Housewives for a few hours. I'm also gonna fill in the forms for the hospital....still feels surreal cos there's no bump, no weight gain. Won't be long I'm sure.

Will pop in later and see if there's any posts, but it's normally quiet over the w/end. xx

Hmmm 3 hour antenatal class #1: didn't tell me anything that websites, BB and my pregnancy books hadn't already told me. Next week is the dreaded 'bring a doll' for nappy practice and breastfeeding. For anyone thinking of an epi, they passed around the needle and stuff that stays in your back and just for sh*ts and giggles passed around the pee catheter that stays in your bladder until the day after delivery.
Oh, and the midwife scoffed at birth plans as she said that people fill up pages with stuff that they offer as standard anyway: they prefer you to be in a dimly lit room while going through the stages of labour as it is more calming for Mum, they prefer skin to skin contact straight after delivery, they prefer to let the 3 of you have all the time that you need rather than whisking off the baby (she actually said that she (or midwives in general) are not a babysitter, "it's YOUR baby, YOU deal with it!!" which was pretty funny. They encourage you to tell them that they're all being too noisy and just shush for a while so you can concentrate on breathing or whatever. If you want everyone gone and the door closed, tell them. So it sounds like my birth plan will be very basic. Offer me gas, give me the option of an epi (which I hope to turn down).

I'll update you about the doll on my b00b next week!

CK interesting info cheers. sounds like my birthplan (not that I've got that far in the thought process) will be mighty similar to yours.... and theirs it seems. Are you in a city hospital or Northwest? I need to borrow a doll from my neighbours' girls to take to mine, look forward to the update next week LOL!! xx

BYO doll? We might have to speak to our 5yo niece to borrow one if we're meant to do that? Like airline, I'm curious to know which hospital this was at?

Airline the trick with the dentist is to claim such agony you just can't make it through the day! They always have emergency appointment but they don't want us to know that

brunette I hope you had fun with your nursery

Interesting info on the classes, I think my DH will hate it. But I'm gonna make him go!

Afm- had a great weekend away shopping in rockhampton, I got all the maternity clothes I'm likely to need. I love kmart!!! And pumpkin patch maternity was 30% off, woohoo! We also got a spare bed and a new lounge, but no baby stuff! Saving that for December.
