What is everyones toddlers up too lately. We have hardly seen Kameron since buying him 50 matchbox cars for xmas lmao, and he also got a huge homebuilt sandpit so spends alot of time out in that as well.
Hi - I didn't even know this one was in here till last night when I was having a browse around.
Can I ask what a IUGR baby is ?
Caitlin is really into make believe playing - one day she told us to call her Michelle (the name of our hairdresser) and she set up her teddies in chairs and gave them pretend haircuts. Yesterday she set up a kinda on the front porch and told us to call her Jo, her kinda teacher this year !
And then other times, she says to me that I can be caitlin and she wants to be the mum ! And everything is a party - put grapes and sandwiches in one of those divider serving plate things and its a party. A bath towel on the floor is a picnic and party, plastic fruit wrapped in tin foil are presents !
LMAO at the plastic fruit in tin foil !! how cute is that.
An IUGR baby is Intra Uterine Growth Restriction. Where the baby has problems or stopped growing for whatever reason. Kameron stopped growing on us at 30wks, I was measuring 25cm for my fundal height. So needed u/sounds every two weeks to check on his progress, at 37 wks they were expecting a really small baby (less than 6lb) and cause of all the stress etc I got pre-eclampsia so they brought me on at 37wks 6day. Kam was born spot on 6lb just a couple hundred grams over the IUGR cut off limit. He did spend a couple of days in Neo-natal with low blood sugar levels and Jaundice though and was nearly re-admitted at 2wks old cause he still had a touch of jaundice, but he pasesed his blood test JUST
They found out in my next pregnancy that I have a gene disorder that naturally causes me to have smaller babies.
Kimberley is doing great. Starting to talk more now and wants to know so much. She loves to look at books and play with her dolls.
She will be 2 next month and i still don't know where the time has gone.
Alex will be two in May and I don't know where the time has gone either!
Alex was definitely IUGR - I was hospitalised at 31 weeks and he was born 4 weeks later after numerous (daily) ECG and ultrasounds.. 1.9 kilos is tiny.
But they grow (relatively) healthy... eventually I'm told!
Yay for Kimberley and Caitlin - LOL at "parties"!!
awww at 1.9kg Divvy !! Hard to imagine a baby that small. I kept thinking about how tiny Lachlan was then when we were told his weight he was 7oz heavier than what Kameron was. Looking back on the photos etc now though you can definitely tell Kameron was a lot thinner.
Hi - I think I had the opposite thing - Caitlin never engaged properly and I was induced two weeks late. Also, before she was born, i didnt think much of the difference in weight in pounds, six, seven, eight pounds ? Caitlin was 8 lb 7 and lying next to the 6 lbers she was huge ! She would have been two alex's ! four litres of milk.
Before caitlin, i noticed with children of friends' that the year between two and three is so big with their learning and understanding things. They're not even a toddler any more at three it feels like.
At this moment, in the room next to the computer, its big birds birthday - I just made him a cake - a loaf pan with a piece of paper stuck over it for caitlin to decorate and i just gave her a ruler to use as a knife.
lol @ big birds birthday. I can totally relate re the comment "at three it feels like they aren't even a toddler anymore"
Kameron has come along way in the last year with speech etc, he got off to a slow start, and now he makes up for the time he has missed. We got all his hair cut off to a #3 around the sides and back and spiked on top and it made him look like a real little boy !!! They grow up way too fast. In 8mths he is going to become a pre-schooler OMG. When he begins pre-entry into kindergarten.
Jillian hope they are able to sort this child out that kicks and hurts other kids.
It much be hard enough for them to move up to the older group.
Kimberley next month will move up from the babies room to the toodler room at day-care and i am so scared for her as she has her favourite friend that looks after her. When this lady is away Kimberley looks for her and is so lost when she can not see her.
I got a phone call today from them saying she would not stop crying after her nap so i went to pick her up and by the time i got to her she was okay. I think she is teething again and it hurts so much.
Urgh at the kicking in kindy Jillian. Our playgroup is at the same place as kindy and in playgroup we have one boy that picks on the other kids. He hit Kameron on Kameron's very first day !! Cause it is playgroup the mothers go as well and the mother does nothing about it, so if I see him do something to another child I will dob him in to the mother cause she will at least then make the child apologise.
Kameron and this other boy will be doing pre-entry and kindy together as they are 3 days apart in age. So I am seriously looking into doing Kindy at a different time to this other child. Although cause playgroup is on at the same time as Kindy we get to see how the teachers handle certain stuff and they seem to take no crap, so that is good.
Ummmm have some posts gone missing? I am sure I posted in here yesterday about Harry's 2nd birthday and there was a reply, but now they are not here...
Jillian - I did post a reply yesterday to you but all was lost.
Kimberley is doing much better but woke at 3.30 and would not go back to sleep for an hour. But at least she did not get up till after 7.30.
I think i saw a tooth making it's way down but she willnot let me check at all.
I can't wait to have Kimberley toilet trainned. She is telling us when she has filled her nappy so that's a start.
