So not that I want to please this can't keep my opinions to myself woman but I got to thinking last night maybe its time this lazy wash my face with water and hope for the best kinda woman started using some....products.

So is there any lazy person routine and products some one can suggest to me to try and keep the wrinkles at bay.

I have dryish skin with the occasional zit

Sorry, but I'm not buying it.

The best thing you can do to prevent your skin from ageing fast, is to eat a diet high in fresh foods, drink plenty of water, get lots of sleep, have some but not a lot of sun exposure, stay off the ciggies and generally look after your health.

What MD said, but if you find you want to use something on your face because it is dry, then I would suggest looking to organic products with no nasty chemicals or alcohol in them (which most supi and chemist brands have). I use Warbotanicals products here, they are made fairly locally to me and I get them at a local farmers market. Totally lush. Maybe find something local using yummy ingredients for yourself as a treat!

Don't quote me, but I think using nothing is better than using anything, unless it's 100% natural (eg avocado facemask.)
Be careful which products you buy, some only list the active ingredients, which are natural, and you don't know what other crap might be in there.
Also, just because it's natural doesn't always mean it's good either. Some natural ingredients are harsh on the skin. I, for one, react badly to products with citrus.
If your skin is looking and feeling fine, I wouldn't mess with it. Just drink lots of water and be healthy!

I swear by the rule of always keeping your face protected by the sun. I wear a hat and sunnies, sunscreen, my face is always super pale but i'm yet to get a wrinkle and ppl always tell me they thought I was 18, still get asked for I.D hahaha
I also have used a mosituriser every day since I was about 16, I think skin is more likely to wrinkle if it gets too dry.
I'm using moogoo on my face right now, just the udder cream.
I think past posters are right, a healthy diet, plenty of water and exercise is the key as well as sun protection. Why not try a cheap vitamin E cream or something? Quick and easy

Beauty a beauty therapist...we love product!!

    best thing to do is..

    Drink plenty of water.
Having dry skin does mean wrinkles so you want to keep you skin hydrated and moistured.. even a nivea cream etc is better then nothing..
People with oily skin dont get as many wrinkles as them with dry.. so yes HYDRATE
healthy diet.. well that is a given for a healthy body as well.
but even if you can cleanse your face.. use something with no soap as that will dry it out even more.. so a cream cleanser is great
Also, wearing a hat and saying out of the sun.. or wear sunscreen is nearly #1 on the list.

    Good luck!

I love to product to and I am also a beauty therapist! Ha ha but I do agree the best thing is what you put in your body to begin with! I see ladies who buy heaps of expensive product but refuse to stop smoking/drinking and sitting in the sun so its not such a good spend of money (please don't think I am saying anything judgemental about what they do i am simply saying that what you do to your body day to day is really important too!)

Try a simple cream cleanser as didspunk said you can use it in the shower if you need to and then a good moisturiser with some vitamin's A, C and E or green tea would see you feeling and looking fab so a simple 2 step process!

    :yeahthat:

If you actually look at people like Jane Fonda and the older women that proclaim for beauty creams - they are really aged.
My grandmother used soap on her face and some moisturiser, nothing fancy - she is 85 and looks 60.
She doesn't smoke, she eats well, was healthy and stayed out of the sun.

I personally use no anti aging crap at all, and the moisturiser I use is completley natural...I have no wrinkles at all. My skin is not the best to begin with, but whenever I use commmercial chemicals it gets worse, dries out and always goes beserk if I stop using it for hat ever reason...It sucks. So I refuse to buy them now. My skin is clear, and I have no wrinkles.
It is also so much better since I quit smoking, drink more water and don't sunbake like I did in my teens! lol

I think the woman you are talking ot has been sucked into the commercial hype, and honestly, has aging issues! I couldn't care less if I get wrinkles, it is bound to happen. All you can do is look after it in the mean time, and I'm not sure where anyone thinks smearing it with chemicals that are designed to cause allergic reactions to "plump" it up is acheiving that! lol

I'm a soap and water girl & use bio-oil twice a day - I have been told I look 10-15 years younger than I am. My mum was a soap & water plus oil of olay user and she didn't look her age until close to when she died.

I don't use sunscreen, refuse to purchase products that have it in it, but that is my personal choice.

I drink lots of water, eat healthy as much as possible.

Yes eating healthy is one way but genetics play a huge part in how you will age.

Okay so I think I'd be a bit shocked if I had wrinkles at 20...but the only 'routine' for my skin I've ever had is drinking lots of water, wearing sunscreen, a natural moisturiser (about to get some moogoo) and coconut oil. My skin is very soft But heh, ask me in 20 years I personally don't buy into they hype, simple, natural and chemical free things work best imo.

I refuse to buy MooGoo, they use palm oil. And there are plenty out there just as good that don't.
    Just my peronal choice though.
I also hate sunscreen - I swear the only time I have gotten burnt is when I am wearing it! lol

    Ooo Pumpkin,
I also love coconut oil, I buy a 100% pure virgin natural one from the healthfood shop, I use it all over my body and have been using it on my bump daily too! I find it's also great for a hair treatment, leaves your hair so soft and shiny!
Limeslice, you've been a wealth of knowledge today hehe
I wasnt aware Moogoo contained palm oil! Can you list some products you would buy for bubs that are natural, palm oil free and yummy I could use on bubs? I only just started using Moogoo as I bought it for when bub comes along but I don't want to contribute to habitat degeneration in Indonesia for the Oranguatans!

I always use moisturiser but to protect, not cos I think it's going to turn back time.
Don't forget though the older women like Jane Fonda also grew up in the days when a golden tan was da bomb. Can't tell you how many hours many of us baked in the sun feeling all healthy-like.

Dunno what happened to me, I used to tan well but after having DD1, I started to burn hanging the washing out and since then go to the beach wearing the hugest sombrero and my skin completely covered until about 6pm, when I soak up some gentle rays.

I like to find something NOT cheap, but not hyped. A decent moisturiser feel diviiiiiiine.

I am a natural girl too - with my skin care. However, about a month ago a friend gave me some oil of olay I think face cream & scrub. I've been using it & have to say it's no where near as good as my natural products. I wouldn't buy it. My rule has been if I can't eat it I probably shouldn't let my skin eat it.

I buy stuff with essential oils & natural ingredients also.

I don't use sunscreen as it for me is not a good choice.

Hat. Moisturiser (I love my products though!) lots of water, organic food, little to no meat, lots of sleep, meditation, yoga, fresh air, loving people around you, laughter. When you laugh or smile it's like a mini face lift.

I'm 43 & I reckon my face is not too bad for that. Wrinkles dont faze me but having said that I don't have many at all. I have smile lines!

    They use palm oil too.

BL: I used essential oils in he bath* with Bump, now I use Mokosh Bath Bombs (the come in bricks, I use about a quarter of one for her baths). We use Margaret River Hemp Co moisturisers, and shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment.
I use Mokosh soaps too, all organic and natural, palm oil free and fair trade, Aussie made and owned. Ticks pretty much every box for me.
I have sensitive skin, and DH gets psoriosis and we have never had an issue. They are reasonably priced, smell fab and do the job without rubbish.
I have heard fab things about QV products too, but never bought any myself, have only used them a few times.

    * = When using oils in the bath with babies, you need to add a few drops to about 100ml of water, and agitate it, then add 3-5 drops of THAT water to the bath.

IMO (so throw it in the bin if you don't like it!) Babies don't need products. They need water, some benign soap at times (not from the supermarket) - most areas will have a natural soap maker. Ask them what their poison is & check it out. I find these soaps last longer, smell like heaven & don't dry the skin.

I make my own powder when I can be bothered (because I'm old & I love a bit of a powdered baby bum!) with cornflour & lavener essential oil.

I use oils in the bath every night for my kids. Usually lavender - sometimes sandalwood as it's my favorite, ylangylang, rose geranium...
