Really limey? I didn't know that. I use the Gaia baby moisturiser, it's so nice.
Lol @ getting sunburnt WITH sunscreen on.

They use palm oil too.
BL: I used essential oils in he bath* with Bump, now I use Mokosh Bath Bombs (the come in bricks, I use about a quarter of one for her baths). We use Margaret River Hemp Co moisturisers, and shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment.
I use Mokosh soaps too, all organic and natural, palm oil free and fair trade, Aussie made and owned. Ticks pretty much every box for me.
I have sensitive skin, and DH gets psoriosis and we have never had an issue. They are reasonably priced, smell fab and do the job without rubbish.
I have heard fab things about QV products too, but never bought any myself, have only used them a few times.
* = When using oils in the bath with babies, you need to add a few drops to about 100ml of water, and agitate it, then add 3-5 drops of THAT water to the bath.
IMO (so throw it in the bin if you don't like it!) Babies don't need products. They need water, some benign soap at times (not from the supermarket) - most areas will have a natural soap maker. Ask them what their poison is & check it out. I find these soaps last longer, smell like heaven & don't dry the skin.
I make my own powder when I can be bothered (because I'm old & I love a bit of a powdered baby bum!) with cornflour & lavener essential oil.
I use oils in the bath every night for my kids. Usually lavender - sometimes sandalwood as it's my favorite, ylangylang, rose geranium...
Thanks Limeslice, I'm going to have a bit of a google now, I've been so distracted by BB today, not getting as much study done as I should!
That's it Inanna... Most of the time the only thing in her bath is tea tree oil - kills all the germs and smells good, and she hates bubble anyway lol
Limey, I just wanted to point out that not all palm oil is evil. There are a number of sustainable plantations and Australian companies are under increasing pressure to source their oils from these.
Oh yes, I just prefer to avoid it altogether. I have no time to find out where they are sourcing it from, if they are sourcing it all from there, and I found products that don't use it at all that are working wonderfully so I have no need to ue it.
I admit to being the same. I haven't got time to know where it comes from so I don't buy it consciously. I am a label a holic but there have been times it has come home without enough vigilance.
I honestly think it's more about what's inside your body than what you put outside. Now THAT's controversial!
I believe good food minimum to no prepackaged, processed to within an inch of a neutron food helps incredibly. Fresh good non chemicalised water. Meditation - being able to still your mind, own your reactions to life, feel the pain & move forward (not stew like a slow cooker on high) -- we all hurt, react, pout, stomp; but doing that and then letting it go, sleeping well, a life full of loving people - really this cannot be underestimated. Wehn we surround ourselves with beauty (asthetics and people) we are forced to feel that beauty. No amount of Ella Bache can do that for us!
Time for reflection & contemplation.
I am a lover of makeup. I truly am. I love it. It makes me feel good & that is a plus for me. Finding what it is that you can do for YOUAR body daily that helps you to feel good. For some liek me it's meditation or yoga for others the gym. For me an hour with a great friend laughing over a cup of tea is equal to 15 mins meditation sometimes. You just feel blessed.
My son learns meditation at school & has struggled over his 5 years of learning it. Just this past week he said: "mum I've just started going to the most beautiful place when I meditate & I love it so much I can't wait to do it each time". I felt like if he learns nothing else at school that's enough. It will stand him in stead.
Anyway my ramblings from Floggerchild!![]()
I always use a moisturiser with a SPF 15+ for the day and a 'night time' moisturiser.
I usually change brands, but at the moment I'm using the body shop aloe vera range - I'd feel naked without any moisturiser on my face lol.
Sorry for hijacking your thread partyoffive
I've got a few more q's regarding baby products, will start a new thread.
I don't use anything and look younger than I am ...
I'm also allergic to an ingredient in virtually all makeup, so I almost never wear that. Sure, it looks nice, but I don't like the red puffy skin and red eyes the next day. Wish they actually listed ALL the ingredients in stuff. Of course, it took me years to get around to tracking down what makes me sneeze, and lo ... THAT is when I learnt it is in makeup too ... ooooooh that explains everything!
Also try not having a ridiculously defiant child. I noticed a grey hair or two and wrinkles on my forehead around the time my second started to walk. And I'm relatively young. Alternately - find a warning-your-child look that doesn't involve raising your eyebrows.
Not all palm oil is bad I don't think - there are renewable plantations out there, I think I read Junglemum saying that.
ok thanks heaps for all the replies![]()
I dont smoke any more (yay me)
and Ive completely changed my diet (yay me again)
I really need to drink more water
and get a hat as I have a new found love for walking and I hate suncream on my face so atm Im sporting a nice sunglasses panda tan
Thanks for the advice and I think you all helped me saved some dollars as I was prepared to go shopping tomorrow for some products my DH will be happy![]()
Honestly, I think it comes down to the genes you are lucky enough to have.
I'm 35. I have NO wrinkles. I have very dry skin. I look at least 5-10 years younger than I am. I always have people shocked when they find out my actual age. I'm shocked when I meet people I went to school with and see wrinkles around their eyes.
What do I use? Water. I splash my face with water in the shower. I don't use soaps, I rarely moisturise. As in, I've probably had time to throw moisturiser on my face about 5 times since Sam was born and my skin is no worse off for not using it any more.
But I'm lucky to have good genes in the aging department. My mother didn't have wrinkles until close to 50. Her father Didn't go grey until he was in his 80s and had chemotherapy. He didn't lose his hair, it just went grey.
I honestly think that whether you age quickly or slowly, it comes down to genetics more than the products you use.
I'm also not much of one for using sunscreen. The worst sunburns I've had are when I've used it. I limit my time in the sun and wear hats and I haven't had a sunburn in years - including being outside all day for school sports carnivals.

I use a sunscreen with moisturiser on my face daily (thegoodoil stuff) because I walk everywhere. I also recently got a hat because I've realised how much I've aged from being in WA's climate/sun. I also wash with thegoodoil face wash and use thegoodoil on my body at night because my skin gets so dry. That's the only products i use except for a little bit of makeup on a special occasion but I rarely have time these days with an active toddler
