Vinegar in the washing machine help

A really dumb question

I have a front loader, where do I put the vinegar?

My washing machine has 3 compartments, I put the powder in the first one so does the vinegar go in with the powder or in one of the other compartments?

I put the vinegar in the softener tray which for me is the far right one.

I usually put it in the rinse cycle so where you would put fabric softener.

I got all excited cos i did my vinegar wash yesterday...
I have a top loader so i'm no help, i do it with an empty machine on HOT, i pour some in where the powder would normally go aswell as in the top where the softener normally goes

I put some in the softener section and some in the pre wash section. The cat peed on my bath mat grrr so I'm using the vinegar to get rid of the smell.

I'm sick of my daughter urinating everywhere but the toilet I love vinegar. She weed on the lounge the other day, and vinegar got the smell out

I have a top loader and liquid/powder get chucked on top of clothes.

I think maybe 1/4 cup. I put some in the pre wash section and some in the softener section.

I used it with stuff in the machine Feeb so I have no idea if it cleaned the machine or not but it did get rid of the cat pee smell.

It is supposed to clean your washing machine. Softner clogs up your washing machine, whereas vinegar is suppose to unblock it.
I put the vinegar in the softner dispenser, no idea how much that would be, I just fill it up to the top.
