We are going through exactly the same thing here with our almost 10 month old. My eldest DS was exactly the same.

I promise it will get better. It's so flipping frustrating and exhausting but this too shall pass.

My DD was the worst sleeper for months. Some nights it would be 40mins sleep, awake for 20, asleep for an hour, awake for another 20mins all night. And then hardly sleeping through the day!
But after the age of 1 it started to naturally improve so that she was only waking once or twice a night, which is manageable in comparison. And now at 21 months she sleeps through most nights and when she does wake it's not for very long. A sip of water or two usually does it.
I remember it being a living hell when it was bad, but it will end.
Sometimes the dread of a bad night was worse than the actual night for us. Sometimes they surprise you

yes it will get better, DS only wakes once, maybe twice a night and it is mostly at dawn and we just cuddle back to sleep. 9 mnths is a horrendus (sp) age for sleep cause there is seperation anxiety, often teeth and developmental leaps all happening at once. it doesn't help with the sleep deprivation though

It will pass hun. I had my darling boy waking up every 1-3 hours every night for 5 months between 4 mths old and 9mths old. He now sleeps every night from 7-7 and only wakes if he is hot or sick, and he sleeps for 3 hours during the day every day, at nearly 2. At the time though I was ready to run away and join the circus. I was SO exhausted so I totally feel for you. If I get less than 4 hours in a row then I feel horrific. Can you go to bed early and get your DP to get up so you can get a bit of a longer stretch?

DD is 13 months and 4 wake-ups is on the good side of normal around here. DS was the same (slightly worse...) and he dropped back to 2-3 wake ups around 18 months. He is down to one wake-up now at 3. This too shall pass, this too shall pass....

It WILL get better!!!!! I had a terrible sleeper waking 4 times a night at around 12 months old, now she is 20 months and sleeps from 5.30pm till 5.30 am! I never thought it would happen. Hang in there!!! It feels like it will never end but one day you will get a good night sleep, big hugs

DH & I used to do shifts. He had work during the day so I went to bed early & he did the premidnight settling before going to bed. Then I would get up between midnight & the morning & try to have a nap in the day if I could. Im surprised we got thru some nights without nervous breakdowns. But you come out the other side ok... Aside from s few involuntary twitches & a fear of having more children

It'll get better, my DD#2 is now 12 months and still wakes up overnight. Only once or twice now but at 9 months was still waking at least 3 times a night.

I remember thinknig the same when DD was about that age - 4-5wake ups and at the time it felt like forever, but looking back it was quite a small time in the scheme of things. She now goes 4-5nights a week without waking up, and she started sleeping thru like this around the 18month mark.

But saying that, DS has been waking up a minimum of 3 times since he was 4months old, and I can't yet see the light at the end of the tunnell...just need to remember "this too shall pass"
