He hasn't been 100% today and I just figured it was probably just an off day for him, until he woke from his nap and SOO hot. I stripped him out of his bodysuit and gave him a lukewarm shower, 15 mins later I took his temp (5pm) and it's at 39.3
Add that to my sinuses and hayfever playing up and this damn sore throat/cough I have and it's going to be another long night I think.... where's my wine
aw big hugs, it's rotten when the little ones are sick. I hope he feels better soon and you both get some rest tonight. Remember if he doesn't respond to panadol alone, you can use it in conjunction with ibuprofen to really lower his temperature.
I feel your pain... my DS has been running a slight temp for the last few days... its so hard, he's been really unsettled overnight... horrible, isn't it?
I woke at 4am and checked on him again and he was back up to 39.2 so gave another dose of panadol and pulled him in with us to monitor him better. He kept twitching and fidgeting so I didn't get much sleep *yawn*
He's still asleep now (7:15am) and will check on him again once I've had my cuppa.
I'm also making an appt for myself to go to the Dr today, will continue to just monitor Tristan and take him straight to hospital if he hasn't come down by this afternoon or gets worse.
Tristan has a *possible* viral infection and is on a course of antibiotics. He has also been tested for Swine Flu (which is going about town) will get results by Friday.
I was told off for not taking him to the hospital this morning, we are SO SO damn lucky. Apparently twitching is the first sign of a convulsion  and you should take them to ED ASAP if they are twitching with a high temp. I didn't know that so obviously didn't take him. I just gave panadol and got a damp cloth to wet him down.
If he gets any worse we are to take him to ED ASAP, we have ventolin on hand to assist his breathing too. The Dr said that with underlying lung issues Tristan is at increased risk and we are not to take any more chances.
