    Naturopath for depression/mood swings

I have always been a very hormonal person especially when AF was about to arrive.
I would always get very moody and yell/cry alot.
Now I think that it could be more than that though.
How do you know if you have depression?
I don't feel down all the time but some weeks I do great and get out of the house and do loads of activities with the boys and other weeks I can't get out of bed and don't feel like doing a thing.
Which leaves the poor boys watching t.v or playing by themselves.

I am hoping to get into a naturopath and see wether they could help at all.
Maybe get some tests to see what my hormones are like?
I have also read that there are massages you can get, acupuncture that help with depression/moods.
I know this may be TMI also, though since having DS2 8 months ago I still haven't DTD with DH. I just don't feel anything, I have tried but I just can't!

Have you had a look at the beyond blue website? There's a test you can do to figure out if you have depression.
Also, there is a vitamin called wellwoman that has high levels of gla in the form of epo and starflower oil (I actually have only found it online and had it sent over from the uk) - it's not cheap, but I have really noticed a difference in mood swings since I started taking them.
You may be able to get something similar here through an naturopath?
Either way, I hope you're ok. Recognising all is not well is a good first step

i found a nutritional approach best for depression (consulting a doctor trained in orthomolecular medicine - which as I understand it, is a bit of an alternative and controversial branch of medicine within the medical field) but it definitely helped me and pretty much sorted my very severe depression straight away when i started taking the right things
