I cant believe im going to be 30!!!!
being that my birthday falls on new years eve I wasnt going to have a party but then I thought what the heck you only thirty once.
and Ive never had a themed party so im going with the 80's as thats they year I was born

Excellent idea! I did the same thing! DP and I googled images of the 80's and found a flyer for a retro 80's night at some place in america somewhere, we photoshopped all their info out and put ours in! I then printed it out like you would photos at Big w.
As people arrived I positioned them in front of a wall mural I made up from old magazines I got from op shops, (with ad's from the 80's, pictures etc. I really wanted to find posters of breakfast club and movies like that but didnt have enough time...) and took photos, was a good idea as they all looked great, unlike later on..LOL
Dp is a bit of a dj so he mixed up some 80's stuff with now stuff, was pretty good too!
Food I had those ****tail onions in garish colours, pina coladas and jelly shots.
will try to find the thread I posted about 80's food back then.

umm decorations....vinyl records, cassettes, 80's movie posters, rubicks cubes on the tables, anything pacman ish, neon table cloths or lace table cloths, or otherwise black and white and very graphicy,

I had an 80's party for my 28th which was ummmm 11years ago (shhhh!) so here's some things from mine:

songs - INXS, The Cure, Models, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, Michael Jackson, Duran Duran, Wham, Pet Shop Boys, Bananarama, Culture Club, Prince
clothes - baggy jenas, thicks belts, skinny ties, white jeans, patels, drop waist dresses, layered singlets, lace, fingerless gloves, big bows, teased hair, beauty spots, leg warmers, pixie boots, ruffles, puffed sleeves, shoulder pads, Fluoro, Choose Life T-Shirts, lycra tube skirts
food - Wine Coolers, cask wine, pop rocks, doritos, pringles, cream cheese dip, kabana and cubed cheese
invite wording - Because we used to go clubbing in the 80's and a lot of clubs had members only areas I had my invitation done as a members pass for a nightclub
decorations - band posters, tv show posters, rubiks cubes, atari, hire a sit-down space invaders game

DH's one was 90s which turned out to be 80s mixed with 90s

we had jelly bands, slap bands for everyone.

I wore a jeans skirt with pink tights and a flouro shirt from supre lol

Scrunchy hair was definitely the 80s and Lets get Physical outfits
