Can I sterilise Sophie the giraffe?

Just back from mothers group where a couple of snotty big kids played with DD's Sophie teething giraffe and I wondered whether I can put her in the Avent microwave steriliser without causing her damage? Anyone know?

Well I can't find the box she came in but I do know it had instructions on how to clean her. I vaguely remember something about not immersing her in water, maybe the squeaker will stop working if you do. I'll ask hubby tonight where he put the box, I know we kept it. I think the bottle steriliser should be fine.

Oh I think I saw that bath toy on ebay, the one with the ring around it's belly, it squirts water doesn't it? Very cute, I think you may just have to get it Skybie

If you're really worried, you could wipe it down with warm soapy water, and then, if we ever see the sun again, stick it out there for an hour or two.
(and if you tell me the sun is out in Canberra and not here, I will have an earth shaking tantrum)

Just googled your Q as we have one too (giraffe not steriliser ) and the general response is the rubber won't handle the steriliser, and not to immerse in water due to the squeaker. I'd go with Audax's method

Don't know about a tantrum bringing bub on, but will try anything!

I've sterilised a fair few toys in my time...
