oooooo I got a wii for xmas and got the wii fit with it. I love it. I plan on alternating my exercises though between the treadmill and the wii and my usual stuff outside. My poor little Mii is so fat :-( but I am interested to see how I go by digitally tracking it. Oh and don't do the jogging one barefoot, or trying so hard to beat your DH's score coz you might just do your calf muscle
I got one. I really like it. I guess it would work better if I used it but not the Wii's fault... I'm either too busy, or cbb.
I think it would work ok if you used it along with other excercise IYKWIM, not just on it's own. But for something to do while the kids are asleep, or on a rainy day etc... well, that was my intention anyway ....
we have it. i used it alot when we first got it, but then got PG & it was shelved for a while (didn't want to hear it telling me i'd always put on weight ). i enjoy playing it but, like fleur said, would just use it on its own as a method of weight loss. i know some people have had quite a lot of success, but i like something a bit more strenuous by the way of exercise for weight loss.
DP & i have had a lot of fun doing things like the hula hoop.
Before I fell pg , I used my wii maybe 2-4 times a week. It is quick, easy and convenient for me to use. I even used it until about 18ish wks pg. The kids loved it too and would do the exercises with me if I did it when they were awake. I hadn't lost any weight with it since I fell pg, but I can let you know how I go after bubs is here. I think it's worth the moeny since it's not just a console for exercising with, it's also alot of fun to use for the games too!! And the games are exercise most of the time too. You can hire games if they're too exxy to buy all the time, or just to try before you buy! I found it fun and useful if I couldn't be bothered to go out for a walk or whatever. Plus I can use it indoors on really hot/cold/rainy days and I don't have to wait til DH is home to looka fter the kids so I can go out of the house if it's not convenient.
I use it once a week, to tone rather than lose weight. I love it, it's so easy to exercise and I don't need to drag myself to a class or the gym. It was definitely worth the money. I got the Wii Fit Plus program, it's much better than the basic one. I keep meaning to go and get a few other programs to vary it.
I just have to say th e hula plus is my fav gaw talk about a work out LOL I also love the yoga and the balance games on the Wii Fit ... I think this is much better than just the Wii sports etc.
We should start a WiiFit thread and we can track ourselves and report in, I am better if I am accountable to someone other than myself LOL
I think it really depends on where you are. If you are the type of person that is ready to exercise or not. I've been on a huge exercise kick, so I use my treadmill every second day, the wii every day and then I go for walks.
I love the wii fit plus and we also have the accessory pack which has weights, a step lift, resistance bands and something else lol...
I haven't used it in ages. I got onto Wii Active though which I have found to be a bit better as it changes all the time. I found I got bored with wii fit and wii fit plus. Well put it this way I did get into Wii Active and was 10 days into my 30 day challenge and had lost 1kg when I did the tendon in my ankle during a side lunge. I have now been on bed rest since the start of the week, and will continue to be on bed rest for another good week
For me yes it was worth the $$$. I got EA Active sports with it as well and that def helped me lose weight. I plan to restart my daily use of it again in the new year and now I have dumbells and extra height for the step too.
I don't find the Wii Fit on it's own a great workout but combined with other stuff it's great.
I love my wii fit, one of the best buys of last year too. I just enjoy that Im having fun whilst being active (well kind of). My biggest problem with it is that for me it doesnt registar properly when I run with it... I mustnt hold the thing right.
Other than we have an absolute ball with it... The girls love it too, which is goood..
And I really want the active one too! That and biggest loser one, apparently it is really good and lots of people have had huge results with that one too.
