    Thermomix V's Kitchen Aid????

Ok, there is a massive price difference!!!

    But what are your thoughts??
I LOVE the thermomix heats and cools, love it!!
    And everything looks SO easy.
Its something I would use all the time, with a household of 8, possibly 9.
And the fact that since we have moved, and have the damn pool and spa, we seem to have a lot more visitors too!!!

What does one do, that the other doesn't???

(Besides the KA coming in purple...... )

I'm interested in this too. I know the thermomix comes with all attachments (except the steamer) whereas it seems the KA needs everything else purchased seperately? So maybe if you got everything so it can do everything the thermomix can, it will turn out the same amount?

    I'd love a thermomix though..

    anyone got a thermomix??

I don't know about the kitchen Aid, I don't own one. But I love my Thermomix, It can do everything apart from bake and it does come with the steamer. Since buying mine I have got rid of my food processor, Bread Maker and rice cooker

and it does come with the steamer.
you must have gotten yours on super special or something cos I've been to three demos in the last few months (I'm addicted to demos!) and the lady said that the steamer is a separate part now, to be paid for separately UNLESS you are the one hosting the party and you buy one then and there - then you get it for free.

I still want one though.. lol

Yeah, i thought by the time you bought and the extras for the KA, you'd be getting close in price anyway!

I love the ice cream demo.. yum, and its cool already! And the soups... all warm ready to go, the kids would love it.

Mel, have a demo yourself!!!! Would have to be a cheaper way to buy one, is it ??

I should look up the site, but I havent heard of anyone up my way doing it.....
Or maybe Alan should post himself using it for us!!!

Nah you get a couple of freebies if you are the demo person, but you don't actually get any discount on the machine for hosting. Its still nearly 2 grand.

I went to my friend's house yesterday and she made me some raspberry sorbet (cos my neighbour sells fresh raspberries!) and then she made me some cheese rolls (which we had for morning tea today)

DELISH!!!! I just love how it does everything. Even from grinding up your own wheat to make flour and then making the bread.... and it weighs everything!! and everything is done in seconds.. its just .... amazing!

Things like porridge, soup etc would be so easy.. if I use the microwave I have to do like 5 lots, But I could do big batches at once, perfect for us!!

Alan, what do you mainly do with yours??
I actually cant find too many demos online to see everything it does....

And where can I layby one???

I know they had an interest free deal going cos thats how my friend purchased hers, you got 9 months to pay it off, so it worked out about $60 a week or something. But you can't get it through an actual store, have to go through demo lady I think?

You can’t buy it in the shop or on line you can only buy from someone who does the demos. I know someone in Townsville who does demos if anyone is interested.
If you want to look at some recipes for the thermomix google forum thermomix. There are hundreds of recipes on there and it will give ou some ideas of what the thermomix can do.
I would use mine about 3 or 4 times a week. I make bread dough, Soups, sauces, cakes, meatballs, boiled eggs, boiled/mashed potatoes, steamed vegies, steamed fish, burgers, casseroles, and many other things. Last night I made steamed fish with lemon and chilli and rice. All cooked to perfection in about 20 mins. And the best part is that you don’t have to stand and watch it. Just out it all in, set the temp and timer and walk away. Oh and another best thing, it can even clean itself.

Oooh really? I'm interested in anyone moving here with a thermomix.. ROFL!!!!!

(but just as an aside, the independent birth centre needs midwives desperately - they are at risk of closing down cos there isn't enough middies in tassie that want to work like that - so if you want to get involved in a great thing.... )
