To WW or not to WW?

I can't decide what to do. Slug it out myself to lose this last 5kg or join weight watchers again. I've done WW before with huge success.

But have also done it alone with huge success.

My motivation levels are not great at the moment but I have a wardrobe full of clothes that I can't get past this pesky 5kg left of baby weight. That should be motivation enough!

    What to dooooooooooo??????

When I first started losing weight, I did it on my own, but part of that reason was I couldn't afford to do WW. Does the budget allow it?

WW can be a help, but I didn't find anyone I bonded with to make my journey more of a success. Not sure I'll re-join after baby, now that they've changed their points systems.

    Bert of luck!

I've also had huge success on WW before (classic yoyo'er), and now just joined WW online, am finding the new point system really good

Depends on how you want to do things?? Finding the movitivation to begin day 1 is often the hardest. Damn I hate you day one!!

If you're feeling particularly slack - jenny craig is good, as they prepare the meals for you

Its up to you really! I love WW, as I can feed the whole family the same food

WARNING: Absolutely Completely Bias here! (as a WW employee).

I say go back. You say you need a bit of extra motivation and enthusiasm, hopefully you can find this at your meeting, and remember that WW have just introduced a new ProPoints program! What do you have to loose?!? (besides weight that is ).

I really enjoy the online program? Perhaps that could be an option?

If i was going to do it I'd do it online. I've had some bad experiences at meetings in the past.

I did it online before and that is how I lost the weight. I love online.

I think you've convinced me to do it!

As a LTM, you are a member for life. Having said that, if you are more then two kg's above your goal weight you will have to pay for meetings again until you get back to your goal weight (although you will have no registration fees). You will also likely be asked to fill out a new registraion form, on which you will put your LTM number if you have it. And for all intents and purposes you will be taken through the new ProPoints program just as a new member would be.

If you are within 2kgs of your goal weight, your meetings will be free and you will not be required to do all the paperwork, but you will also not recieve the new program material unles you purchase it as part of a special "LTM at goal kit" - which includes the program material and the food guides, calculator and journal. It is cheaper to buy it all like this then to be a paying member, and get it that way. Some LTM's at goal just choose to continue with the old points system rather then purchasing the new material.

As a breastfeeding mum, you will get a information pamphlet (ask the leader for this, as often we are unaware you are breastfeeding unless you specifically tell us). Breastfeeding mums get more ProPoints then non-breastfeeding members (which I always loved when I was breastfeeding).

MummaSue - the online tools are fantastic. I am on there everyday. And the forums are a great place to get support when you need it.

MummaSue, I'm not sure where in BrisVegas you are, but if you're in the Carindale/Camp Hill area then I can highly recommend my WW leader. He - yes HE - is fabulous. PM me if you want more details : )

Thanks AndiE, but I'm quite far from there - online is good for me, I am pretty good at keeping myself on track. I actually get quite addicted to the online tools, they are fabulous. Thanks though!

I am lifetime WW member, lost 40kg first time round and have returned many times. My theory is it works best the first time because it actually teaches you things, once you know what your doing it is much less bang for your biuck
What it does do is make you accountable as you front up to get weighed. But it is an expensive way to be weighed.
What I think is a better use of money is personal training sessions. Ask them to weigh you, then they also get you mobving,,They do know about nutrition but you know what your meant to eat etc already, its just a matter of doing it!
    Good luck!

I've just lost 7.3kg's in 9 weeks on Jenny Craig. I was tossing up between that and WW and JC won as it's the total slackers way I think lol bub was only 6 weeks old when I started and I just didn't want to think about what i was going to eat let alone have to prepare it so Jenny Craig seemed like the perfect option for me at the time. Plus they had a 1/2 price 7 year membership for $249 which my health fund covers 100% of I don't plan to be on Jenny Craig for 7 years but I do plan more kids and if ever i put on 5kg's here or there I can just go on the program for 5-10 weeks and get rid of the weight before it becomes a problem. It's expensive though and I have about 2 weeks left and I will need to go off it due to financial pressure at home so having said that I kinda wish I'd gone on WW!

I would like to know what the weight watchers point system is though as I think that for long term living that is the way to go. I will join weight watcher on line in July when my health fund kicks in again and it will cover the membership fees. In the mean time I will calorie count as I've done that before and really enjoyed it, rather than feeling restricting I found it liberating to know what I can have and still feel congruent kwim

I've just joined WW online and so far I'm really liking it. I know I already know everything I need to lose weight, but seeing the points add up is really helpful. The new proproints is good too, as fruits and veggies are the focus and it takes into account the nutritional value of everything. It's my first week of any weightloss program and I'm loving it
