my 3yr old :( hospital didnt help

may be bit of a ramble my lil darl went and stayed at her uncle and auntys who i trust competely she only stayed the night and come home with a 20c piece sore that looked like it had been a blister that popped and she cant tell me how it happened (her aunt says it wasnt there when she bathed her the night before) so i took her to the hospital cause it worried me.

The dr treated me like i had committed child abuse i told him how she stayed at her uncles and aunts and was then asked if they smoke cigars WTF??? no they dont smoke the whole time looking at me like i was guilty of something. they couldnt tell me what it was caused from but said looks like a burn put betadine and a patch on it that was fri

ive been cleaning and looking after it changing the patch everymorn and night and tonight noticed it looks heaps bigger and she had a allergic reaction to the patch i put on which has resulted in similar blister like things that pop and look like the mini sores like her big one am definatly taking her to the dr's in the morning but was wondering if anyone else has experienced similar

it is located at the top of her thigh on the back just before the bum cheek

A little girl where i work had what you describe, turns out her brother burnt her with his Asthma puffer. He held it on her arm and kept pressing it & it caused a burn.
Do they have children with asthma? Might sound crazy but it happened

Can't help with the original sore but she may be allergic to betadine. It's a common allergy.

I hope you get an answer soon.

My little neice just had something like this when she was here for christmas - the dr said it was a skin infection (he couldn't say which infection exactly, but that they would try treating it generally and see how it went), gave her some antibiotics and some anti-inflamatory medication to put on it, as well as some dressings: although we were advised to let it air as much as possible.

My DS2 has this at the moment (or something very like it).

He got a mozzie bite which he scratched and somehow a staph infection has got it. It started small but is now about 4 cm long and looks raw and weepy.

I went to the Dr and they cleaned it with some liquid and covered it (which DS took off as soon as he came home!). I have got some strong antibiotics for him as the infection is a tough one. He has to take the medication 3 times a day on an empty stomach.

Go to your GP ASAP as the infection will keep growing if it is the same one and take longer to heal.

A spider bite? I got bitten by a white tail & once the bite/blister burst it took layers of my skin off from the poison. It got worse before it got better

Poor darling My DD had a school sore that sounds very similar when she was about 7 mths old, just under the line where her nappy sits. The first Dr I saw thought spider bite and the next said school sore and gave us an antibiotic cream that cleared it up quickly.

That sounds nasty! My first thought was also a white tip spider. Let us know how you go

i doubt it would be impetigo, that would be something that the drs would hae seen millions of times before. did they find out what it was yet?

pretty mcuh exactly what i was going to say, dd had this, on new years eve we took her to the dr, he said a mozzie bite had become infected wtih a staph infection - she was put on antibiotics, we used bactraban cream, and she is still having anti-itch baths.
