I started at the gym today. Div gave me a 2 week trial at her gym.
It is a contours gym so it is a good place to stick my toe back in the gym waters, so to speak.
I feel better after today's workout, have an assessment tomorrow morning to work out my "biometric" age. Funny thing is during the work out when you have to take your pulse, the lady showing me around was shocked when she found out my age, she thought I was younger.
I've been so good with my food lately, eating lots of lean protein, salad/veges and minimal carbs (potatoes, rice, pasta etc).
I'm excited about finally getting the time and having the motivation to get back into exercise. I'm not going to do my usual trick and throw myself in at the deep end, am going to ease myself into it, only going once a day, it is a 29 minute workout so I think I can manage that each day
That is a great start...I saw Divvy at the latest meet up. She looked awesome! So you are onto a good thing!!
Throwing yourself into the deepend when excersise is concerned is just a recipe for disaster IMO and my DH's.
My DH said, don't go out and run 5km and feel like crap as you will never do it again
Well did day 2 of going to the gym, lasted the 29 min work out after I'd done the fitness assessment, was there for an hour and I was totally shattered by the end of it.
I must be less stressed, or the wicked massage I got the other night has helped, because I'm taller than I've been for a while.
I have to learn to pace myself, I'm competitive, I push myself, I remember what my body can do but it isn't ready for it as I know it is going to take about 3 months to get some reasonable level of fitness back.
Have another session tomorrow and will be going each day (except Sunday) while my trial is on. I'll then be starting the Michelle Bridges 12 week total body challenge. I'm going to get this body ready for winter sports!!!!!!
