Tali - big squishy hun... you know I'm here if you need me xx and I love the avvy!! I would have tried making mine but stupid computer didn't have any room on it to download some of the software I needed. But ~Kim~ made mine and I love it!

Dani - how is DJ going? is he all recovered from his hospital scare? you guys have not had a very good year that way

I'm clucky as. We have a new niece and I just love newborn cry (I guess maybe cos P didn't really cry that much) and how perfect they are... hmmm I can keep dreaming, DH has said end of year trying at earliest... although if it happens earlier he wouldn't be opposed...
But I could also go back to work or study... but I don't want to be away from P, and I don't want assignments which is a bit of an issue with study... but I might look into doing something vocationally cos I am the type of person that needs to challenge myself and learn new things all the time

    Mmm sorry about my randomness...

    Yay! New thread!! How exciting!

Untold are you getting clucky again??

My friend just called me to tell me she's 15 weeks UTD to a sperm donor!! Omg right! I am happy for her but she already has a 5 year old and didn't want to wait for the right man to complete her family. She's a single mum and i think she is an amazingly strong woman. All power to her!

I want another one but I'm kinda thinking to wait a little bit longer so that L is 2 years old before we welcome another addition to the family. I actually just want to enjoy him for a little while longer before concentrating on a pregnancy and new baby. It's also a $$$ issue for us as well which is such a shame that finances stop growing a family but that's reality eh?

L is feeling better but no teeth to speak of. Apparently I didn't get teeth until quite late then I got a whole bunch at once. I hope that's what happens to L!!

Happy Australia day ladies! Hope it's a good one xoxox

Tali and Dani - we need to organise to meet up when I'm in Melbourne!! I'm down for the 8th til 11th Feb. I'm hoping to get to the Geelong meetup, but keen to see you girls separately if we can... I'm staying right in the city, but hopefully trains, buses whatever won't be too hard for me to get around with P.
    Any suggestions on where?

erica: YaY for renos! we just finished all ours here but they added value to the place. the new house we only have to fix the back under over thingy. no painting nothing

Untold: i'll text you during the week and see if i can arrange something. me+trains+kids = bad LOL but i'll see. i might be able to be dropped at my nans house and go from there or something.

    AP: mummy high five eh?

AFM: been busy here. bought a 2nd high chair (AP and Tali if you guys need one sunday!) for vic. he loves avo, sangs and stake. plus icecream (yep, blame DH for that one) plus curskits and carrot...he'll try anything at least once. he went for his first swim at mum and dads over the weekend he loved it. even if he didn't quite grasp the fact he couldn't touch the bottom! i dare say he's not far off crawling as i really kinda hoped he'd hold off until we moved guess that hope is slowly fading eh? DJ is going well. he's cruseing along. climbing onto the couch now and just being himself. getting ready for his birthday will be alot easier then last year - im making choc-ripple cake and getting patters from slave way and DH is getting pizza and MIL, mum and my aunt are bring salards.

In other news my SOL gave birth tuesday to a baby boy. i'm happy for her that by the sounds of it was a simple birth. i left a small gift at their door last night (i didn't want to see BOL as i doubt i'd be overly "OHHH BABY" with him. they where never like that with us. i've already done more then they did for eather of my boys but Meh. MIL bought up seeing them and i said "nope unless they organise it then we're not seeing them" plus if i do see her i'll feed and smile and go "well you've had a baby welcome to the world of BOOBIES OUT" or simply wear my tank top with "Its not about my right to breast feed but about my childs right to eat" the bub was 7lb5oz and MIL pointed out "she was all baby" what the hell was i? Dj was 10oz heavier then her baby and vic was almost 3lb heavier again! sorry for the whinge but i'm annoied at those comments.
with that i'll go biatch in my blog LOL
hope every one is having a good week thus far!

AP: it was over the phone other wise she WOULD have seen how peeved i was.

i talked to MIL today and ser-freaking-prise SOL is bf-ing so now i can do it where ever the fark i want...my arugemtn? "she's had her vagina display giving birth. my boobs hangin' out is nothing!" i also found out she had a vacum delivery which i asked MIL how long she laboured for which was 10 hours i said "oh, did they get her off her back?" MIL face changed and i told her "sorry but i cant help but express my annoyance at it. she laboured 10 hours hard yes, but if she was on her back that is the worst way to shut off a pelvics" she did comment on the gift i bought DN (SOl and BOL's son) but nothing from BOL. ah well. i can lay strait at night knowing i've done the right thing.
Oo better go dinner is burning!

    Hi All

It has been a while since i have logged on here! I tried reading all the posts but gave up! there was too much to go through!

Cant believe how quickly time has flown by, LO will be 8 months soon.

I am returning to work next week on tue and wed only.

I have a question for any mums who are bf and working:
i would love to continue bf so my plan was to bf all day and night for the 5 days i am home, the two days i am work i was hoping to bf morning and night and get her to have formula during the day for those two days. Do you guys think my milk supply will drop too much? I would express for those two days but I can only get 80ml at any one time so would be expressing too much to be worthwhile.

Also my little munchkin has decided she wants to wake every 2hrs and refuses to go back to bed unless i bf, some nights she has a lot others a few sucks and back off to sleep, do you guys think this is just a habbit or the poor thing is still hungry?

Well they are my two question i had!

ASM we are both doing well, LO is now in the 25% for weight (she is 7.5kg), but she eats like an animal so not sure how that happened, she is super active can not sit still. She is now walking along furniture and is a handful to watch so im hoping that is what has caused the decrease in weight percentile.

She is going to swimming lessons and is loving them which is good i was afraid she would be scared but seems to be enjoying it.

anyhoo just wanted tp pop back in to catch up on everyone, now i will get the notifications again!

    Hi Everyone!

I know, I did it again with the long absences I'm a shocker.

Erica - There's 18 months between my girls. Like Dansta I will say it is great for the kids, they are too young to be jealous, and you're already tired and in the 'mode' of babies. BUUUUT, I absolutely would not have another one until DD2 is at LEAST close to 3 as it is really difficult until they're 2 and have that extra comprehension level, maybe even older, but then you got the jealousy . . . pros and cons to everything in life I guess.

Dansta - I've been picking up that DJ has been really sick! I hope he's ok now? I feel terrible I haven't said anything, what is happening with him (if you don't mind my prying?)
Ech to your MIL - I hate it when people say that, what does it mean anyway. I was pretty small with both my girls (granted I had small kids) but still I just carried very, very tightly. I still put weight on evenly all over, so yeah, my tummy was all baby and back to it's normal self in a week but I still had 10kgs and a full dress size up to slog off and I'm only half way there. Others put on all their weight on their tummy, and some lucky people don't put any weight on. Good for them. Unfortunately we can't control what our hormones do with our weight gain or where they put it, or how much amniotic fluid we have, the shape of our uterus, the size and positions of our babys, so why comment at all!!! Does it make any woman feel good?

Alex - Welcome to the world of juggling! In my opinion - no, if you're only working 2 days, still breastfeeding before and after work and for 5 days, just giving formula while you're away won't affect your supply - it should be well established, though it's probably dropped naturally if she's eating a lot of food now. You may find your DD may prefer to wait for you or at least mostly wait for you, especially if she's not been used to a bottle, but your boobs will make up for it when she gets home, and now that she's older, she can keep going on food and water/juice at least if need be till you get there. Also, with DD1 when her weight started to drop (she was just being fussy) I added egg yolk, butter or avocado extra to her vegies and toast to calorie them up. The 2 hourly cycle at night is totally normal, at around 7-9 months babies start sleeping in the normal 2 hourly night pattern and some need comforting or an aid to get them back to sleep between these, especially if its the same way they go down for their sleep - this is fine if it works for you and baby, if you're not getting any sleep and are starting to feel insane well that's why if it gets really bad it's usually at this point some need to teach their baby to go to sleep on their own but since this is a gentle parenting forum and I don't want to stoke the fire I won't go into details, I'm not for or against either. I did CIO with DD1 and it worked brilliantly for her she slept 7-7 for most of her babyhood, but I was at my wits end and she didn't WANT to be aided to sleep she just wanted to get miserable. with DD2 she's always aided, rocking or feeding or walking around the halls in her pram, but I haven't needed to CIO with her as she only wakes if she wants a feed so, feel it out, she might get over it, if it gets bad, don't feel like you're a bad mum if you need to try other methods.

Alex- Harlee wakes every 2 hours if she goes to bed before 8 pm, and from 3till 4.30am she has another play time, so now she will have 3 little sleeps or 2 big sleeps during the day and her night sleep isn't as long but more solid. That is just what its working for us at the moment..

Not posting much atm.. Been so busy!

    alex: :hi:

Sas: Dj has had two fits in three weeks. the second one was tuesday night (wednesday morning) which ended in a breathing tube and transfur to a larger hopsital and a short stay in ICU (due to the tube) he was in hospital wednesday - friday back to the ER today (well early this moring) due to croup.

AFM: been a crazy week. vic has been a trooper though. hes come down with a cold (and DJ croup) so i'm one tired mumma. but other then that we're going really well. slowly and stedy wins the race. or something to that affect. ill up date more once my brain is engaged.
