Dan - Oh my Goodness that is awful, poor little man. And poor Mum and Dad - I can imagine how mentally exhausting just worrying would be, let alone the physical side of it. Hope they find some answers and can put a stop to it. DH has 2 siblings who are epileptic and I've seen how scary and exhausting a fit is for an adult so it must have been so scary for you.

Well, after me waiting and waiting for all the pain and angst that comes before that first tooth... Lachlan got his first toothypeg over night on Sunday! He's a bit grumpy today but that a cos he's got a cold and cough as well - I've got it too... Not fun! But I'm just so glad the teething wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. But I guess it's the beginning right??
Lachlan is crawling too now. The house isn't baby proofed. Haven't even thought about it!!
We bought our new car! Yay! Pick it up' this week. So excited. Toyota Kluger 7 seater in Pearl white. So pretty!!
And were moving soon... Not sure when but it's gonna happen before June

Emersyn seems to be taking her time with her crawling & pulling herself up - but I don't really mind, means the house is safe for a little longer LOL...
hey everyone else... not much to report here. P has cut his top two teeth and it looks like another bottom one is about to cut. Commando crawling and holding on to my legs when I put him down now. Standing quite well holding on but occasionally lets go and stays there :O Eating 3 'meals' a day, plus morning and afternoon tea... plus boob still!! He is a little muncher
Had an appointment with a psychiatrist yesterday re the PND and everything... there were two in there and they were both really supportive. They have agreed that I need more than medication. and will talk to my other care givers and work out an action plan and how to approach things because they don't want to overwhelm me. They also said they could see that I was determined to get through it and that I am doing all the right things i.e. getting help, staying safe etc

AFM: been a little less busy here. DJ has been good thus far. minus a cough that just wont move but then again a side affect of the drug he's on is upper respiority issues. so we see the pead thursday i'll get him to check DJ's chest if he says it clear i might ask about putting him on a cough suppressnant or something. Vic is going really well. he can pull himself to leaning over standing when eather DH or I are laying on our sides. he is also very good at 'worming' his way around the house which is very cute. he is also lovin' his cucumber, carrots, bananas and avo too. ohh and ice cream! he's growing up too fast. he had his 6mth jabs last week (only 2 month late LOL) we see the MCHN on monday next week for DJ and vic too. other then that its just packing up stuff slowly but surely. Ohh and sorting out Mt fold more too. better go i have some pork in the oven which i need to blend up for DJ so he can eat it!
Erica - Well done Lachie on his tooth.. and crawling! We are still waiting for teeth, but Harlee is still constantly biting everything and seems to be showing all the symptoms of teething. Hopefully they arent too far away for us! I've heard that the first teeth are the worst, so maybe he just got lucky?

We have been sooo busy here it's crazy! My sister left for Japan on Sunday morning, so we wont see her till february next year, she was very teary on friday night, coming to the realisation that when she comes back, Harlee will most likely be running around and talking. My other sister still thinks she is going back to London but we are doing everything we can to keep her here. Other than that we've had parties, weddings, engagements,, reunions etc for the past 2 months. My Dad has been getting really busy with his business and has asked me to now work 2 days a week (3 hrs a day as I'm with Harlee the whole time ) So that will be good to get a bit more money too.
My car, well the douche is most likely getting away with it. His boss got lawyers and they want to keep fighting.. which we cannot afford.. so we have to leave it and be stuck with a smashed up car and we are still paying it off for another year. ulgh.
I am hoping Karma will get him, and the company, if not we may need to have a chat to Karma and make Karma get him a bit quicker iykwim
Harlee has been having poo issues, so bad that she cries when she poos because it hurts her so much and shes had blood in her poo. doctors are useless so weve just been doing prune juice every day to keep it soft and less pallet like.
Harlee now claps to music, and bobs her head when music comes on, its very cute. She also waves hello and goodbye when we do it to her (unless we are expecting she does it and then she wont do it!)
She has managed to crawl but it does not last long. she can however move across the room on her belly.. her comando crawling is amazing.
Dh's family are still shocking, but we have decided that they are there so Harlee doesn't think she is the centre of attention all the time (because they ignore her)
Has anybody been doing sign language with their little ones? Apart from Hello and Goodbye, Harlee will do thumbs up for 'good'!!

Yep, we are staying clear of banana, we have heard that it binds up.. No matter what I do, harlee won't take a sippy cup ive bought heaps of kinds but she just cannot figure it out, she just bites the spout, I put the prune juice in a normal cup and she drank it from there and it must have worked because she did a big poo last night!
i have the Nuby soft spout stippy cups (the only ones DJ can drink out of) and any with the anti-leak thing...end up leaky as i take them out. they're really friggin' hard to drink out of (i tired it!) but YaY for poo (only on BB could some one say that with out strange looks!)
Poor harlee's bum! Yay for poo! We don't seem to have trouble with any foods except still getting hives from egg whites.

We also have a nuby soft spout that Mr c has around home & an antileak one for when we r out. He tends to drink 100mls of water a day, 2-3 cups of solids & isn't really interested in boobie except when he's feeling sooky or tired or wanting a snack. My supply has never been gd but jeez its low now.
Other than that we have a tooth on the bottom left after months of faking lol and still no crawling, tho he has gone forward once. He managed to pull himself up from sitting to standing today, on the change table of all places lol.
Anyway is better go, we r at the cardiovascular specialist for DF, waiting waiting waiting for an ultrasound of his heart, cos its rhythm is wacky *sigh*

2nd tooth has popped through with absolutely no problems! Lucky mummy I am! He looks so cute (and so different) with his two toothypegs. Lachie is a real crawling machine, his poor little knees are getting so red and sore He's also been sick going on 3 weeks now so we finally got him so antibiotic drops and he seems alot better after 2 doses! Meanwhile his mama was soooo sick with gastro yesterday, I wanted to DIE... ugh! Lucky Daddy was around to help cos I couldn't even get out of bed (unless it was to run to the loo )

Tali - sorry to hear about the driver being a douche And I know what you mean about your sister being away and missing out on things with your baby. My sister hasn't even met my LO and she won't until he's 18 months old when she comes home at christmas.
Erica: Lucky the teeth arent causing any problems! my LO has four teeth out already two top front and two bottom front, she is now getting another four at the same time (one molar at the top one molar at the bottom and two more at the front) the poor little munchkin. She is not coping very well, sleepless nights, loss of appetite just being grumpy and whingy all day. Its been hard.

AFM: i have been back at work for 4 weeks now, only working tue and wed so it hasnt been too bad. I am really enjoying it. my LO has been a bit difficult lately i think because she may be getting 4 teeth at once (she already has 4). I have barely been sleeping on a good day she wkes up 3 times on a bad day she wakes up up to 8 times so needless to say i am very tired!!
I have now cut down the BF to over night only when she wakes up as i found my supply diminished very quickly not sure why or how it happened but she was always whinning when BFing - probably coming out too slow for her. I now have the dilemma that she doesn't have much milk during the day and im not sure how to fix it.
Her daily routine is:
7:30am breakfast 1 - 1.5 weetabix with full cream milk and either half a banana or 2-3 tablespoons of mixed fruit
8:30am - morning nap
10 - 11 am - formula - but most likely she doesnt have it or if she does maybe 40 mls
12pm: lunch - chicken and veg or beef and veg pasta etc prob a cup worth of food plus water
1-2pm: afternoon nap
3pm: bottle usually has 80 - 160mls depends on her mood
5pm: dinner same sort of thing as lunch a cup worth of food plus water
7pm: bottle again 80 - 160 mls depends on her
over night: BF
Is there anything i can do to get her to have her milk? is milk really that important now?
Also getting her to eat is usually a nightmare she wont sit still for longer than 5 mins, hates her high chair and i end up having to chase her around to eat, she has been crawling since Nov/Dec so she is very quick and is walking along anything she can stand on! She really is a hand full and i am at a loss some days. Does anyone else have any problems feeding their LO's?
Even to have her take the bottle is a lot of starting, then she decides she wants to play then she will come back to the bottle for some more, then she is off again etc..
Apart from having an overly active child she is doing well, not sure how her mummy is doing but im sick of people telling me 'good luck with your LO she is going to be so hard to look after'
anyway thats all from me, have been feeling a little stressed and tired lately thanks to my little munchkin just hope what ever i am doing is the right thing RE the milk and food intake
Hey Alex, what your doing in fine. Im always thinking that what I am doing is wrong.. but I figure, at the end of the day, Harlee is happy.. so I must have done something right.
Im not doing too well with the weaning thing, Harlee has maybe 8 breast feeds or more a day and an average of maybe half a cup of food (whether it be veges, meat, bread..) Although food is fun until they're one, so I'm not too worried yet
Alex, sounds like you are doing the right thing re milk - you keep offering it. How many times does bub bf overnight? If she is on formula during the day, have you tried a different brand? Maybe the one you have is 'appealing' to her :shrug: She sounds like she is an eating machine though, so maybe she is full, have you tried offering milk before solids?

P is starting to pull himself up to standing and occasionally letting go and standing there for a few seconds. I think he might walk before he crawls properly, but he can get around pretty quick when he wants to with his commando crawl. He has also worked out how to go up the step at IL's house between the lounge room and kitchen... yep there's no keeping this child in one spot anymore
Things have started to settle down for me. Had the weekend medication free because we have changed them. The one they had me on, and doubled the dosage when things got really bad, weren't making things too good for me and were having a sedating effect on P at night - 12hrs SOLID sleep. Since I stopped the higher dosage, his sleep pattern went back to 8hrs sleep/feed/4hrs sleep. Started new medication on Monday so will see how this one goes. It's soo hard knowing that you are doing the right thing taking these medications and whether they will have an effect on bub, and weighing up the risk of not being on them... BUT I need to get better for myself and my family and this is part of that process.
Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and bubs are keeping you on your toes!

Oh yes, my bub can be damn tricky getting her to eat too, she gets so frantic about loving her food she flaps her arms about and I can't get it to her, then she gets upset and wants to get out of her chair and starts wiggling like a fish. I have to have a hoard of prepared toys for her to play with (then drop) to keep her hands out of the way, she loves to put things in her own mouth so you'd think BLS would be the way to go. But every time I try for BLS type foods i REGRET it big time, she is a real choker. Not just a gagger, she has a very strong gag reflex, but a choker, as in choking (so no noise at all) I turn her and whack her sharply between her shoulder blades (as per text book) and she coughs it up with vomit. So I have a few finger foods I've learned she can have, but am mostly giving her chunky solids. And she eats a fair whack at lunch and dinner, not much usually at breakfast after her morning BF, what can you do, offer them milk feeds and solids, but the ball is in their court after that - unless they start dropping weight or get constipated - they must be going alright I reckon.
Anyone else got a naughty, naughty bub who just crawls about and puts anything they find in their mouth!? DD1 NEVER did this, DD2 I am literally afraid to let out of my sight, DH or I sweep a couple of times a day and vacuum every night because any little thing she comes across she puts in her mouth. Twice now she's almost choked on gumnuts, no idea the first time how she got it, DH thinks it fell into her pram while he was walking her, but he didn't know she had it in her mouth till she started spluttering and choking while he tried to feed her and she coughed out a gumnut! I can't put her on the grass because she instantly starts pulling it out and leaves and putting them in her mouth, trying to swallow them, seriously what is with this kid!
L is doing the same thing as the rest of yours by the sounds of it with the commando crawling everywhere, including down the step and up the step between my house and my parents flat - pulling herself up and cruising along furniture, occasionally caning herself big time, I think she'll walk next month the way she's going. I don't think that's an indication they're going to be difficult at all though, actually with DD1 I found once she could get around on her own, life got easier for me as she was happier to follow me about, or play in the teatowell drawer and was less frustrated at her limitations.
DD2 has started accepting a bottle again, DH isn't offering it to her even when I'm at work now, but it's good to have up the sleeve - which I have mixed feelings about, I kind of loved only being the Booby mumma after putting in so much work to get there, but also, felt like well, now I can't leave her at all in the evenings, so now I'm hoping for best of both worlds.
Ooooh, I don't know if you can all tell by my rambling, but I am feeling fan-freaking-tastic today, I slept for 8 hours last night, I have not slept that long since Lilah has been born and I feel like a new person! Had a total crap heap of a month last month, L was waking every 40 min to 1.5 all night for a week and I wanted to tear my own eyeballs out and throw them at her! I decided enough was enough as she was only fairy sucking when I put her to the breast, so I bit the bullet and for my own sanity let her CIO the next evening when I put her to bed, you know how it goes, she started to cry in her room and I started to cry in the loungeroom, and 15 minutes later she was asleep and has slept like an angel ever since in her own cot, with me just putting her down with teddy and kissing her goodnight. So, gentle parenting site or not, CIO Absolutely works for some people and I am soooo happy I did it.
Ok, I suppose I'd better actually work now and stop being so naughty. Luckily for me the last creepy accountant we had in did something to my computer that stops it from tracking history prob so he could look at porn as the other girl saw him doing once, shudder. Must run ladies
Tali- i was BF prob over 10 times a day, and 5 of those were overnight! when i started with work i slowly switched to formula, it took a while to get her to have the formula but she is now happy to take it she has increased the amount she has now. Congrats on still BF i know how hard it sometimes is, i wish i could have kept going but she started refusing one side so my supply dropped quite a bit and it was hard doing bottle once a day while i was at work then BF the other times, it was starting to confuse her so had to stop, but am happy i got to 8 months.
Untold Angel: Thanks, she was an eating machine but now she has decided that she will no longer eat pureed food and wants what we are eating, but the problem with that is i cant tell how much she is actually eating, it feels like she is barely eating anything, but is now taking the bottle quite well. Her food intake has dropped a lot so will need to get her weighed again to make sure she isnt loosing weight id be lucky if she eats 3 table spoons of food a day. I cant seem to win, but on the up side she is sleeping through at night now (she wakes up once around 10 or 11 for her last bottle and about 5am but goes back to bed once she sees me)
Has anyones LO decided they only want to eat big people food? i am at a loss as what to feed her everyday. it is becoming very tiring and i feel bad but sometimes i just give up and she only eats 2 or 3 spoonfuls, but im hoping if she was hungry she will eat right??

Mr C officially decicded he was over boobie about a month ago, just out of the blue went from feeding every 3-4hrs to only wanting it when he woke up and after his bath. left me very sore and engorged for a few days while be boobs caught up. then within a week of that he decided he only wanted it when he woke up...now i struggle to get him to have a bf every few days... waiting for my supply to dry up completely. i tried expressing but that has never worked for me, now not being an exception. he seems happy to have water out of a sippy cup but not a big fan of formula or cows milk no matter how i try to give it to him. i am struggling to get the reccomended 960mls p/d of milk and have been giving him more yoghurt and milk on weetbix etc.
other then that we had 5 teeth come thru in 4 weeks not includng the week just been) so have been having a right old time with that!! crawling is for losers aparently so we have seen SOME comando crawling but mainly bum twirling and grizzling when mean old mum tries to encourage crawling. hes more than happy to totter around holding onto hands and furniture, to the point of letting go with one hand so he can try and open drawers and cupboards, resulting in some bumped noggins and squished fingers but we now have the baby gate up to the kitchen.
i am seeing a psychologist fortnightly for PND, PNA and insomnia as i have REALLY not been coping or functioning very well at all to the point of my sister coming over and cleaning the house and doing some washing cos Mr C had no clean nappies or clothes. (we are using sposies atm for the same reason) now i am not bf my medication options are better as there will be no transfer. i am on the waiting list to see a psychiatrist specialising in PNA and PND, currently looking at May.
i was also booked in to get a gyno reconstructive op on 24th, got a call a couple of days before saying private health will not cover it so i would have to pay up front... we were looking at $1400 jsut for the hosp, not including anthesatist or gyno fees (of course not covered either!!) so we had to cancel as we had just paid the deposit on a venue for our wedding. so now taking the matter to consumer affairs people and hoping to get it sorted by novmeber otherwise we will have to postpone our honeymoon. no way i am going on a honeymoon without being able to DTD!!!!! not to mention we want to try for #2 sometime around the end of the year.
in other news we have had to rehome one of our kitties she really wasnt getting on with Mr C and was being a right feral (since about 2 months before DS was born) to the point of bashing up our other kitty (whose half her weight and size) so badly she was shaking and vomiting and had puncture wounds on her neck!! shes now living with a exworkmate of DF (who is a crazy cat lady just quietly) and loving it. its heaps quieter without her here but our other kitty and our dog are much happier and more relaxed without her.
DF started anew job last week and is loving it. hes 200% less stressed with same hours, less responsibility and more pay (work that one out!!) working with people who are passionate about the industry rather than just coming to work to pay the bills and doing just enough not to get fired. relaxed enough in fact that we have set a wedding date now to organise everything in just over 7 months.
OK I JUST REALISED HOW LONG THIS IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! id better go to bed quickly before its time for Mr C to get up!
