Cot 0 - Our bed about 11 months

So I have finally decided that after DS 1 sleeping with us till 2.5 and DS 2 sleeping with us till now that it is time to put him in his cot.
Meanwhile DS1 is still creeping into our bed at 1 am, so 4 in the queen bed is a bit tiring and not much sleeping.

I have always been into Co sleeping and comforting both boys to sleep. Now I have just had enough.
As I work night shifts till 1 am, getting home at 1.30 am then sleeping on a mattress on the floor as my bed is full is getting to be too much.
He is also feeding all night and loose count as to how many times a night he has boob.
I am loosing control of my emotions with them and have a short temper most of the time. I have been using T.v as a baby sitter and being a zombie mother.

Now today I moved the cot into DS1's room as we only have 2 rooms here. I have been trying to make the cot a happy environment and putting him in there asleep but always wakes up as soon as he hits the mattress, sometimes he cries when you lift him over the edge of the cot.

Today I let him cry in there for 45mins as I couldn't handle it anymore. He finally slept but not for long. This afternoon's sleep didnt happen at all as he cried for 1 hour.

Tonight he was so tired and fast asleep so we put him in there and he slept for an hour then kept rolling around and crying in his sleep. So we put him on the mattress on the floor in the same room and 3 hours later, not one finger has moved!

How do I get him to sleep in the cot, nicely and comfortably for me and him. Oh and my poor DS1 who has to share a room with him.

Sorry that it's so long. I am just so lost right now!

I'd stick with the mattress on the floor - can you make that room baby-proof and gate the door so he can't escape??

Can you try him in the cot next to the bed then slowly night by night (or every few nights) move the cot away from the bed until it's in another room?

Some kids just hate the cot. I'd stick with the mattress, and see how that goes for a week or so. I always fed DD to sleep and then crept out, which is also easier on a mattress.

We have a single butted up against our queen and the wall, and it works really well.

being a co-sleeping all night boobing mumma can be SOOOOO tiring.

    You're a great mum.
