    Persistent craddle cap

All my boys suffered from cradle cap as babies but my 18mnth ds still has a really dry and flaky scalp. I only use baby shampoo once a week on it the other days I just rinse it. Any home remedies or practical solutions would be great.

Moo Goo scalp cream got rid of ours for both girls and it never came back. Available in some health food stores or online.

My Dr suggested I use cooking oil, leave it on for an hour or two then wash it out - seemed to work for us : )

May I ask what shampoo you are using?

I have also heard olive oil on their head and leave it for a bit then wash as Boo suggested too

I've had 3 kids with it - including an 18 month old that currently has it.

I tried a few different things - and found most of them got the cradle cap up but clumps of their hair fell out with it. I just leave it now. It seems to go away on its own eventually.

I always left it with the girls dd1's cleared up at 2 years, dd2 at 1. But I have discovered moo goo with Ds and it's all gone at 6 months.

I have a nearly 5yo and a 2yo who both have it and it just cannot be removed. DD's is just clearing now. I have tried everything, oils, egozine, bicarb paste, moogoo, combing with a fine comb, even scratching it off.
It looks yuck but it really isn't harmful. It does go away by itself eventually......I just wish it would hurry up. That said I have terrible psoriasis, and I'm not surprised my kids have it.

Thanks ladies. I will try some oil again. I use a sensitive skin body ph balanced soap for their hair. It just drives me insane but at the same time I don't want their hair falling out!!

Maybe try a completely natural product instead like moogoo or sukin kids body wash/shampoo, Gaia or eco baby.. They are all chemical free and won't irritate the damaged skin...

I used olive oil then brushing out with a baby brush. Also wasing with moogoo wash then using the moogoo scalp cream after. Works really well to reduce the cradle cap, its almost all gone after a week.

Dd had it ongoing until I used pawpaw ointment. It takes a couple of washes to get the ointment out, but I've never had to do it again.
