    Dizzy spells?

    Hi,

I'm coming into week 34 and just wondered if anyone else had dizzy spells around this time? I've read that it can happen in pregnancy and had some dizziness earlier in second trimester, but yesterday my head started spinning a few times. Anything I should be doing, more fluids etc? Or is this pretty normal for third trimester...

    Any feedback would be appreciated

    Thanks heaps for the reply

lol, no ufo's or stars and my blood pressure has always been fine at my doctor's visits but I have been feeling hot lately (not as in attractive haha!) And I'm also still working out for about forty minutes, 5-6 days a week. I asked my obstetrician if this was ok at visit last week and he said it's fine. This is my first bub and according to the experts everything is going very well. Do you think it could be the heat or maybe the exercise?
lol I'm pretty stubborn when it comes to exercise, was doing ten dance classes a week before I got pregnant so it's hard for me to sit still sometimes!

i did post on this earlier for some reason it didnt show up!
I went to the dr last week because the dizzy spells were driving me insane, he did my blood pressure which was fine then got me to stand up and did my blood pressure again and discovered when standing my blood pressure is really low but my heart rate goes right up so I have been instructed to rest as much as possible

Zaki&Amali: lol hard to feel attractive when you're lugging a boulder belly around! ;D
but yeah, maybe need to start resting a bit more :/ and my workouts usually have some good cardio and toning exercises, end up pretty sweaty afterwards so it's not exactly yoga lol it's just really hard to figure out what's ok and what's not! everything I've read and my doctors say I can keep exercising and it's good for you, so gets confusing. Am taking it easy today though, still feeling funny in the head so hopefully the rest helps. :/

~*MrsS*~: that sounds pretty similar to what's been happening to me actually! I got dizzy when I stood up a couple of times and my heart rate sometimes starts going faster when I'm just sitting doing nothing, but I've read that's most likely a normal thing when you're pregnant. But yeah, can understand why they would drive you nuts, it's a really awful feeling -_-

I had terrible dizzy spells throughout the 2nd and 3rd trimester, they drove me insane. When I asked the midwife about it. She said because my blood pressure is fine that it's most likely to be my blood sugar levels. She said whenever it happens to eat something like an apple, so I did and it helped heaps. She also said when you go from laying down to standing do it in stages, so go from laying to sitting and wait a few seconds then sitting to standing and wait a few seconds before you walk lol i hope they don't hang around because they really are horrible

raffy: Ahhhhh, thanks for your reply!! I had a glucose challenge test not too long ago and it was way too low, I got a real telling off for not eating enough so maybe this is the same problem! Thought I was eating more but maybe I'm still not getting enough calories. And I am definitely taking your advice on the getting up in stages too, I launch myself off the couch pretty quick and forget I'm lifting for two now! Thanks for that, lol I have a feeling my doctor might give me another lecture at the next visit :s
