    Deodorant - help!

I need your recommendations on a really good deoderant please. I have tried all the usual ones (Dove, Rexona, Mum), usually the sport ones that say 48 hour protection. I shower in the morning and apply deoderant, but by 3pm pretty much every day I am aware that I am sweaty and, although not offensive, there is some BO I wear mainly singlets to give my underarms a chance to breathe, and I am often left feeling cold for fear of rugging up incase I sweat more. Does anyone use a really good deodorant that would help me?

Was thinking the same thing, can't help but will be after advice too. I have started boxing once a week and I am conscious of how much worse it is afterwards.

I don't mind if I am at the gym, but I am thinking patients might not be too happy when student nurse Trav gets close to them

I use Mitchum scent-free (it's a dark green coloured roll-on bottle) & its the only one that doesn't leave me smelling a bit hinky at the end of the day. I also found switching brands every couple of months had some impact.

    good luck!

Moo Goo deoderant is great!!! If your arm pits are a bit smelly it is not from the sweat but from a bacteria in the armpit area. You can cleanse that area with a mouth wash to tend to the bacteria for about a week. Then do not use any deoderants that stop you from sweating as it blocks the pores hence bacteria and then the smell and off you go again on the round a bout!!

Thanks for the advice, I really want a deoderant that stops sweating as I don't want to be dripping under my uniform. I might try the mouthwash tip though.

I'm sure it's totally terrible for you, but give it a go...Norsca. Not any one, the coconut spray on one. It stops sweating for me. And NOTHING else is strong enough. So maybe give that a go?

There are two I know of that make a clinical deodarant..Dove and one I have used and can't think of it comes in a red and white packet. It is right next to the Dove one in the Chemist.
I have been using Garnier Mineral 48hr roll on...it's been great and is available at the supermarkets.

there's a new Rexona Clinical one I think it's called. I found that in the last couple of years deos started working less and less. Then I started noting their active ingredients. Rexona's went from 10% a few years ago to 5 at most and now they don't even put it on the bottle.
Ive been buying the loreal one but even that's not cutting it anymore.

loreal and garnier are out due to their relationship with nestle. I might try a clinical one if the Norsca one is no good.

I used to use the rexona clinical one, it was ok. I've always had a sweat problem, never wear tops with sleeves etc. Since having a baby I've stopped using it while breastfeeding (just my own precaution) and I've noticed the regular rexona deodorant doesn't work.
So I thought I'd try the nutrimetics roll-on deodorant, and it's actually pretty good! It's a neutral scent so works for women and men. Costs about $9 and it's a big size. If you look on their website they can tell you how to find a consultant to purchase (I have an account with them but with postage it would be silly not to find someone local to you!). Goodluck

I second the Rexona clinical protection.

Has worked really well for DH who sweats heaps.

Another sweating one here. I find swapping helps.
Mitcham does not work at all
Garnier mineral - works until I work out, then it packs it in straight away. I become drippy and smelly in less than 5 minutes (I know you not interested in that brand, but just so others know)
New Rexona perfume ones - not too bad, best at the moment
Driclor - yep does work, just need to get another bottle
Mens deodorants - seem to work quite well. Don't know if they are stronger, or if their smell just disguises mine a lot better.

Will need to check out Norsca as well

I can no longer wear anything with poly in it, so poly cotton tops are out. Sweat once in those and the smell never comes out.

the mineral stick from the body shop seems to work ok. I can ski for a day in it and even under all the layers it doesn't seem offensive at the end of the day. It is expensive so maybe contact them and ask for a sample before handing over your cash. Have you tried a men's deo? They are are bit more heavy duty. Fwiw I never noticed any funny smells.
