the mineral stick from the body shop seems to work ok. I can ski for a day in it and even under all the layers it doesn't seem offensive at the end of the day. It is expensive so maybe contact them and ask for a sample before handing over your cash. Have you tried a men's deo? They are are bit more heavy duty. Fwiw I never noticed any funny smells.

Driclor isnt a deodorant per say but its about 20% aluminium and shrinks the sweat ducts so u dont sweat anywhere near as much. i put it on b4 u go to bed (make sure ur pits are totally dry) it does sting like all buggery for a while, u shower in the morning and wash it off and put on ur normal deodorant ( i use mitchum because its also higher in aluminium than the rexona's ect) i used it for about a month and havent had an issue since. i was 1 step away from getting botox in my arm pits to shrink the ducts i used to sweat so bad, never wore anything colourful, only black so noone would see my sweat rings, never wore tight jumpers ect.

I was going to ask if you've tried a stick.
Perhaps an answer is to carry a small roll-on in your handbag? Especially while at work. I have been known to keep a bottle on me (the mum ones are small and slim) especially while I was pregnant - I seemed to be more stinky if not sweaty when preggers.
I imagine working as a nurse is going to be pretty physical work. I'd be just topping up during the day as needed.

Yeah I was going to suggest this. I love the lady speed sticks but I'm not a huge sweater so I'm not sure how effective they really are..

The Body Shop is owned by Loreal, in which Nestle have a part interest. A lot of people still but TBS toiletries even when they boycott Nestle due to all the good they do, but personally I just boycott everything as I am wary of any business that Nestle will gain from

Thanks for your advice everyone, I have bought the one PZ recommended, and also a small tea tree deodorant to keep in my handbag for middle of the day freshening up. Will let you know if it works

I have heard good things about Driclor (although I am working for company who make it) - apparently it works really well on sweaty feet as well.

You need to kill the bacteria which causes the smell not the actual sweating.

After your shower try wiping your pits with straight white vinegar. It can be a bit stingy, especially if you have just shaved.
Once it dries the vinegar smell will disappear and then try applying your deodarant.

I used Mitchem but I find I have to change every couple of months as I build an immunity to it but also doing this vinegar thing every week or so (whenever its hot and lots of sweating in happening) certainly helps me. I also use a anti perspir
ant spray on top of my roll on just to be on the safe side.

Oh yes, I will be trying the mouthwash trick too (rather than vinegar, would rather smell like mints that chips )

    Hi,
I have noticed that a few people are mentioning deoderants that contain aluminum. It is important to know that aluminum based deoderants have long term side affects. Each person can make their own decision about what product is best for them but please 'google' Health effects of aluminum based deodorants.
There is a reason why we no longer cook with aluminum cookware, and in the last few years there has become widely available deoderants that do NOT have aluminum as an ingredient. Because of the glands right where we spray deoderant they have linked diseases to this.
Like I said, each to their own when it comes to informed decisions, but I thought there may be people who don't know the side affects and may make a change if they knew.
