    washing Doona at home??

I need to wash my doona, its not a big thick one, just a medium tog, not sure. It says it can be washed in the machine but what the problem is, i dont know if it will actually fit in my machine. Its a 6.5kg machine, but i dont want to break anything by trying and google didnt help!

    thanks

    front or top loader?

I found I couldn't fit my mattress protector into my front loader, so I trotted down the road to the laundromat and used their heavy duty machine. Other option is to use the bath, get your DD1 to jump up and down on the doona in the bath.

I usually wash my wool one in the bath or in the paddling pool outside in summer. Then I put it on the lattice and hose it off (rinse), but you're right i only do it when it's hot enough to dry reasonably quickly. Otherwise dry cleaning?

If it doesn't wash in the machine just take it to the laundromat, it's cheap and easy. Otherwise the old fashioned way of washing in the bath works, you just make sure after rinsing you step on it to get all the water out. I find this works best so it's not too heavy to carry and dries quicker.
