Raspberry Leaf and Evening Primrose Vitamins

    Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to know who has tried raspberry leaf tablets and evening primrose tablets to help with labour and soften the cervix up.

I have a girlfriend that swears that it helps..she said she started taking them from 30 weeks, the midwife even commented on how soft she was.

Im not saying it works or doesnt work, just wanting to know thoughts on this.

    Thanks

I would recommend the raspberry leaf tablets. Though I did end up being induced, I believe they helped to make my contractions more efficient. For a first timer, I think an 8 hour labour is pretty good. Can't hurt to have them!
I used the EPO capsules only sporadically as I didn't like the mess they made

I was addicted to RLT! I made up an iced version and was drinking like 1.5 ltrs a day. I also was inserting 2 epo at night (wear a liner!!! Lol)

My cervix was soft and open and my contractions were full on from the start!! 4hr labour too.

    I definitely think it helps!!!!

Sent from my iPhone so sorry for the spelling and punctuation!!

I used both with second birth, they were great! EPO nightly (definately a liner ) and RLT too.
EPO makes things softer and RLT makes your contractions work better.
Be aware though RLT can cause early labour in come peopl
    All the best

I used RLT tablets from about 32 weeks for memory then bought the tea at 38+4 and drank a lot that night and went into labour the next morning!

I had a 9 hour labour which my OB and midwife said would have been a lot faster had DD not been posterior and then stuck. I dialated quickly - 9cm in 6 hours...when I had my epidural then things slowed down for a bit But I definitely believe the RLT helped me for sure.

So is the epo just your normal tablets?

I used both, RLT from about 32 weeks & EPO from around 34 weeks (I think, my memory is fading a bit lol)

The EPO tablets, yes just your normal ones - I got mine from my chemist or you can get from a health food store, you can swallow them or insert them (or both).

RLT is not supposed to induce labour but is more of uterine tonic, to assist with contractions, and in milk production as well. I ended up going 10 days postdates after using both for weeks
