Smelly ear in 3 month old?

Has this happened to anyone else?
My DD has one ear that has been really waxy and has this really foul odour? It is not causing her any pain, but it stinks!!
I finally used some cotton bus tips to carefully wash it out last night, and it is a bit better today, but not sure whether to take her to the Dr or not? I had wondered if when she has vomited a little milk back up during the night whether it may have run into her ear??
    thought appreciated!

Is there alot of wax/discharge coming out? I'd probably take her to the drs especially because it is so smelly she could have an infection. Not all infections give the person symptoms.

Check behind the ear too, dd2 threw up a lot overnight and it would be behind her ears, if we didn't clean it up it became a hotspot and would get stinky.

Make sure you properly dry in and around bubs ear after a bath .... I've found that a quick wash and "proper dry" works for me in getting the stink gone! Dried up milk, spill and food ........ eeeeuw! it gets smelly!!

I would be going to the docs just to be safe. My ds2 had a stinky ear around the same age which I ignored which was a severe ear infection which ended up requiring surgery because the infection went into the bone behind his ear. Not saying this is so in your case but better to be safe than sorry.

Great advice here! If you've already checked for crusties behind the ear (I reckon we've all been there, LOL! Soooo hard to remember to wash/dry behind there!) take her to the docs just to have a quick lookie inside and make sure it's all clear. It's more likely that there's spew/stale milk/crusty skin stinking away there but you'd want to check just to make sure
