    Blood pressure reading question

I was feeling a bit dizzy and my dads BP machine is here from my last pregnancy. So I took my BP and got 95/61 and hr 102

    Anyone know what this means?

Not sure but interested - my last midwife appointment I had a BP of 90/50 and I googled to make sure I wasn't in a coma lol

Your blood pressure is a little on the low side, but still within normal limits. Your pulse is a little fast though but only a teensy bit. However if the BP machine has a cuff that is the wrong size for you then it may have given an incorrect reading. Have a rest and if you still feel dizzy then mention it to your midwife.

PS Can I just say I have not studied the effects of pregnancy on blood pressure, so don't take my word as gospel. If in doubt, talk to your midwife

    Hi Amaunet

Your BP is a little low and HR a little fast but nothing to be too concerned about. The first thing that comes to mind is are you drinking enough fluid? You should aim for about 2 litres a day. The second thing that could be causing this is that you normally have a slightly low BP And the dizzy feeling caused you some concern and thus put up your HR. Finally your body is starting to make more blood and blood vessels, (veins and arteries), if the increase in blood volume is not keeping up with the amount of new blood vessels then this can cause a drop in your BP. This is nothing to be concerned about and it is not unusual in pregnancy.
