The catch might be that they are on a different power voltage and sockets than Australian appliances....???
Check but it might be 110 volt (instead of 240) and you would need an inverter.
Woo hoo! Buying a kitchen aid!
Including the postage it's seeming to me that I can save a few $100 buying a kitchen aid mixer and the popular attachments from Amazon even when shipping is included.
Is this too good to be true or is there a catch?
Empire Red baby here I come!

And you will find most electrical kitchen appliances will void the warranty if you run them using an adapter.
I'm looking at a cuisinart pink coffee maker through there for the same reason. Let me know how you go
You need a power box, KA Australia will not cover the warranty and if anything happens during shipping it tends not to be covered. So please be careful.
But... But... I wants it!![]()
yeah America has a different power supply than us so they won't work here unless you use an inverter which could damage the appliance and will void the warranty.
An inverter would look yukky on my bench which defeats the purpose of buying it in the first place. Sad face.
I knew it was too good to be true.
I assume the attachments are ok though?

Mine came from Peters of Kensington. I've heard that Costco had a good deal on them when they opened in Canberra.
costco in melbourne has them for 699
kitchenwaredirect have them for $689...free delivery on anything over $100.
because they won't work here...they are a different voltage...it is 110 volts...australian power runs on 240 volts....Overseas appliances won't work here, as soon as you plug it in you will blow the motor as well as fritz your safety switch. you can buy a power inverter to convert it but once you add the cost of that in it is just as cheap to buy an Australian voltage one here with a warranty.
You can buy the attachments there though and save some money, they will fit, just don't buy anything with an electrical motor from the US.
Thanks for clarifying melbel.
I remember my Mum brought over some things from the UK (eons ago) but they didn't have motors in them.
UK is also 240 is only US that there is an issue with.
Yes my friend found out the hard way when she ordered an electrical appliance from Amazon. Didn't even think about the electricity till it was to late. An inverter was going to cost nearly $300 for the wattage she needed. Amazon said she could send it back for a refund, and even though it cost her $22 to get it here, it cost $100 to send it back !! Ended up getting Amazon on a loophole of sorts cause she said that they should not have shipping to Australia and other 240v countries on their web pages that sell electrical appliances.
Amazon gave her a full refund including the $100 postage cost to send the item back. She wasn't going to get the postage back to them in the refund till she questioned why Australia was listed as a country that they would ship to.
