Please tell me about Baby Led Solids?

    Hi All
At the risk of looking like a dumb ar$e I am after some info about BLS. I see it mentioned around the forums and have a rough idea about it but not enough to start it. My DD is 6.5months old and really not interested in solids (we have been doing rice cereal, pureed fruit mashed veg etc) so am wanting to try another tactic.
Pleasee explain it to me like I am 5 (lol) like as in how you start how you serve things etc.
Thanks in advance ( I'm sure there will be info on here about it I just havn't had 5 min to look properlyas yet)

Basically, it's just letting your baby choose how much they eat themselves. So you're not spoonfeeding. You put some stuff down in front of them that they can pick up and eat themselves. Most people start with steamed vegies. So carrot sticks, broccoli, beans, cauliflower, etc are good. Anything that they can grab onto and chew on. It's pretty amazing seeing that they know exactly what to do.

Basically we offered DD steamed vegies in finger sized form from 6 months (by day 2 we had a variety of stuff going on) Then baked, steamed, toast fingers, baked beans, yoghurt etc. Everything was given in 'fingers' and our thoughts were if she couldnt get it in her mouth then she wasnt ready for it. Anything goes and we absolutelt LOVED it! Some people steer clear of things like eggs etc for a while.

    Any specific questions you have??
