    Healthy teeth foods!!

So DS has a $4000 Dental bill at the age of 3.5!

We eat pretty good with the occasional treat and lots of fruit and dried fruit (which now I know is all sugar :-( )

They only drink water and no cordial as we just don't have it in the house.

Unfortunately due to his teeth being close together and having large deep cavities his teeth are catching the food and its eating away at them.

I need snacks that fill the kids up and that are sugar free.

I have fruit, sandwiches with brown organic Preservative free bread, plain rice crackers and cheese and a few lil ideas.

Please help with some healthy snack food ideas!!!!!

Popcorn is great -home made pref not microwave.
Little platters of cut up sausage, tomatoe, cucumber, carrot etc
Rice crackers and hummus/ home made dips

Also you can buy Tooth mousse- you put it on the kids teeth at night helps give them an extra calcium boost

Yoghurt, plain milk, wholemeal pikelets, home made muffins.
    Vege sticks with peanut butter
    Remember not too much fruit....

DS just went to his first dentist's appointment so I have some tips!... Don't brush for 1/2 hour after eating sugary stuff. And the dentist told us about Tooth Mousse too!

I'd go with veggie sticks too. Maybe some Vita wheats with vegemite, cheese is meant to be a good neutraliser for food acids (I think).

Apples and carrots help clean the surfaces.
Water after eating helps wash some of the gunk off teeth.
