My poor baby girl has thrush really bad. It's all through her mouth and she had a terrible fungal nappy rash. I've gone through a tube and a half of daktozin and cornflour on her bottom and it has helped a lot although it's not fully clear yet. But the thrush in her mouth has gotten worse. She's been 4 days on nilstat (hubby tried to get daktarin but they refused to sell it to him) and I've been giving her a probiotics and some natural yoghurt daily. I don't know what else to do for her.
If you are breastfeeding you will need to put anti fungal cream on your nipples too. If you are bottle feeding, I'd be sterilising your bottles/food equipment (if you don't already). Keep going with the Nilstat. It can actually be quite painful for the baby. I'd be back to see your GP on Monday, if things don't improve.
Also try giving her some nappy off time in gentle sun.
oral thrush is the pits! ive had and i dont know how babies stand it!
imsuprised they wouldnt give u daktarin i thought it was only not allowed under 6 months, maybe try a different chemist
I managed to get some daktarin for her this morning. We only have one chemist here but I got a different pharmacist so had no issues. Hopefully it helps. She's pretty miserable skybie, poor little munchkin.
