    Newborn pimples

DD2 is looking terrible atm with a face full of pimples - she seriously has more than a high school D and D club!

DS had them but I can't remember how long it took for them to go away. Can anyone tell me how long they usually take to go? Hoping it is soon or I might have to bust out the Proactive (joking!).

Hi, not sure what the average is, for my DD they lasted about a week. Hope that helps :-)

DD1's were shocking. Lasted about 3 weeks all up.

DD2 is starting to get abit but no where near as bad.

My LO's lasted for ages, at least 8 weeks. I remember being told they would be gone by 6 weeks and being pee-ed they weren't.

My DS didn't get them much, but my DD had them (in combo with heat rash) until she was 3ish months I think.

DD2 had them really bad and she would have been close to 10 weeks before they all completely went, but she had a huge improvement in them by about 8 weeks old.

I googled it not long ago as ds4 has them too and it said it could take up to 6 months to clear up.

i remember DS had them but couldn't remember how long for - it felt like ages (but so did everything at the start - like the screaming phase!) but i just looked at the photos & they were all gone before he was 10 weeks old, probably before 8 or 9 weeks.

Thanks. It has been one week so far. She has just started doing big smiles and the photos look horrible

I am going to keep my fingers crossed that they last only a couple of weeks and not months.

I've just noticed that most of the bubys affected badly were female. I am curious now were all the bubbys affected Breast fed?

My dd was also affected badly. She looked like she had chicken pox all over her head and neck, big pussy looking things. sorry it did take quite a few weeks for them to clear up. Breast fed baby.
DS had the odd one here and there and his lasted a few days. Breast fed baby also.

I did wonder if it was more common in girls. DS had them for about a week, but nowhere near as bad as DD2. DD1 didn't get them. All 3 were breastfed.

I have also wondered if having hormonal acne as a baby is an indicator that they will be more prone to acne at puberty?

Ds had them badly til about 8 weeks. So badly that we had the professional photos airbrushed as we wanted the photos when he was a little one. I too have wondered if he will have it badly as a teenager. Dh had horrid skin as a teen. ds was breast feed.
