getting little arms and legs stuck in cots!!

Wasn't sure where to post there, is there a home safety thread or something?
anyway, i was wondering if anyone has come across any good solutions for toddlers legs getting stuck through the bars on the cot sides??
I have been using the air wrap and my little boy just stands his foot on it and pushes the whole thing down between the mattress and the cot side.. so no good..
something like the air wrap if it went the full length of the cot side would be good, but i think my little one would manage to unstrip the velcro and push it down again..
anyone used the wonder bumpers? do they stop legs and arms going through..
my little boy just pushes his leg through to the knee and this morning it was really hard to get his leg out!! I was almost about to call my Dad to come and saw the cot!!

also, has anyone managed to find a way to keep those plastic teething covers on the top of the cot? Do they actually work for any of you, my boy just pushes them off!! I am thinking of velcroing it from the insides??

I have munchie cot rail covers and they come with Velcro straps to keep them strapped on.

A friend of mine did actually have to saw her cot in half to get her daughters leg out... She put her in a bed after that.

DS is still in a sleeping bag and doesn't seem to have issues with getting his legs/arms stuck.

How old your son? Is putting him into a bed with a side rail an option?

We used an Airwrap for DD. Worked a treat.

We use both the airwrap and a sleeping bag. The airwrap was mostly so DS wouldn't bang his head too hard from rolling around, but it also helped with the little legs and arms going between the bits of wood when he was smaller.
