We recently bought the Ikea 'Kritter' toddler bed frame but we didn't get the mattress as it was really thin/spongy/crap. Has anyone had any luck finding a toddler mattress? The mattress would have to be 160x70cm (most cot beds are 130x70).
I get the feeling we will have to return it and get a single bed bah
I have heard that the Ikea beds are funny sizes, which kinda forces you to buy their mattresses. You might be able to get a mattress made specifically for you at a bed shop that makes their own stuff.
You could go to sowmehre like Clarks who cut foam to size but it wouldn't be a proper sprung mattress. I really think a single bed is a better investment, as they last them for a long time. We bought a fairly decent mattress from Sydney's and a bed from Bed Shed for Iz recently and it didn't cost all that much all up and will last a long time.
that said, as a PP mentioned Clark rubber do foam mattresses, which when the kids are small and lightweight do really well for the course of time that it would be used.
We got the extendible bed from Ikea, it starts off as a toddler bed and you can make it bigger as they grow, we were going to buy a single bed mattress but as you said their sizes are all weird, so we just got the inner spring mattress that goes with the bed, it's very comfortable.
