I'm working on an outfit for my niece, I was going to hand sew the tulle to the satin ribbon but I didn't like how much even an invisible hem stitch was showing so I decided to use glue. I've used wood glue (it's what I could find easy) would a hot glue gun have been a better option, I don't really want to go out and get fabric glue.
It's intended for a 6 month old but designed to grow into.
Best bet would be to sew it to something else and then sew the ribbon onto that iykwim. If you don't like the look of the stitching could you do it in a contrasting colour and make a feature of it rather than trying to disguise it?
Muppity I always forget about using a contrasting color as a part of the design I must remember that for next time!
I ended up using only a small amount of it (started before I saw your post, sorry!), it seems fairly flexible and I've given it a few good solid tugs and it doesn't seem to be coming off. Seems like the flexibility of the tulle takes most of the tug.
