    Prepping Ahead for tomorrow

So....is it okay to peel the roast veges - potatoes, pumpkin, parsnip and sweet potatoe and then leave them in cold water overnight...will they be okay for eating tomorrow. and, is it okay to prepare the stuffing tonight for tomorrow, we are having a deboned rolled turkey so won't be actually suffing the turkey but cooking the stuffing in a baking tin...

Just thought the pumpkin would probably go yucky soaking in water overnight wouldn't it?

I wouldn't soak the pumpkin overnight, but the rest of the veg should be fine. The stuffing might dry out if you prepare it now though.

My mum does the stuffing the night before and it seems to be better that way

Maybe cover the stuffing in cling wrap?
I wouldn't think the pumpkin would discolour so would be ok not in water, maybe rub in some vegetable oil if worried?
    Goodluck

Should I make my triffle tonight and just put custard on tomorrow?

    That should be ok kylz.

You could even parcook the veggies to save on cooking time tomorrow.

Little things like setting the table, or at last getting out the right number of plates, cutlery etc can save you heaps of time too.

I often par cook my potatoes the day before roasting them. They're always crispier and fluffier when they've been par cooked first.

I've just made the most delish potato salad. It'll last until tomorrow no worries.

I've made pastry for the apple pie, the vanilla sauce to go with it, have quinoa soaking & i melted white chocolate and mixed with fruit mince to make Christmas rocky road type thingy. Will be interested to see how that turns out. Didn't think it worth prepping the apples for the pie in case they go brown.

So much for ignoring Christmas this year

On second thoughts the potato salad won't ALL last until tomorrow. I had to test it. At least twice.

Well done L&B - huge hugs.

Div! I did the same! I made a coleslaw, green salad & potato salad today and I had to keep tasting the potato one just to make sure it was "ok"

    Sooooooo delicious!!
