    I lied- it wasn't $80 DH

We are broke. I mean broke!

I am on maternity leave at half pay and I am also the breadwinner so we are seriously broke. My some stroke of luck (or maybe bad luck in disguise) my bank offered us a $2000 credit card. I have managed to not spend any....until today...

You see my DD is being baptised on Sunday and everyone in the family are coming. I am a fat hippo and well I havnt bought myself ANYTHING for a long time and well...I saw this dress...and it is made for fatties like me....and it is gorgeous....and well....I tried it on...and I'm LOVING IT!!! So......

    I bought it...for $180!!!!

I lied to DH and told him it was $80

I feel bad, but I feel good. DH told me he hasn't seen me look soo good in awhile. I just feel alittle guilty lying to DH and I feel I have let my daughters down by feeling good and not buying them anything

Anyway- feed time....thanks for reading xx

If it makes you feel good then allow yourself to feel good! Now go and freeze the cc and don't do it again

My mum has always said when telling your husband how much something costs you halve it and then minus 10%.

    Enjoy your dress

Well that more or less works out to cost price doesn't it? Delph - you deserve it, this will be a pic that will be in your family for generations - you deserve to look and feel amazing!

You deserve it! A christening is a big deal, and yes you will have photos taken of you, so it's essential IMO that mum gets a new dress!

Hope you have a great day

Yep agree agree agree with the others, you work hard you deserve something special every now and then. A christening is a big deal and so I think its only fair that you look your best for it.

If it makes you feel better I am about to spend $250 roughly on a new baby carrier and I told DH that it will only cost $150

Agree with others 100%. Besides hun, it's not ALWAYS about the babies/kids, sometimes mum HAS to be a little spoiled too!! Mums work very hard and they deserve something nice every now and then. I found that when my DS arrived it all become about him. I remember months and months going by without having bought anything for myself. I mean nothing DF ended up sending me to the shops telling me to buy something, anything! Good on you hun, you really deserve to feel special cos you are

I think that's a passable omission - I mean you just left out 1 little thing I hope you feel beautiful wearing the dress, you deserve to.
