How do you store your eggs?

Hi, I was just wondering how do you store your eggs, fat side up or pointy-er end up ? I take them out of the carton and put them in an egg holder thingy and I put them pointy side up and I was wondering if anyone knew which side should go up or if it doesn't really matter ?

However they are in the box. I didn't know there was a way you're supposed to store them one particular way. I just put the box in the fridge.

Pointy end down. It is to do with the air sac, can't remember the full details, but they are meant to stay fresher that way.

Also with eggs it is better to keep them in the carton. They absorb flavours/smells from other things in the fridge. The carton minimises that compared to using the egg compartment of the fridge.

Mine stay in the carton, on the shelf, pointy side up.

Do you all keep in the fridge? I keep them on the bench ( we go through heaps though)

In my ovaries.... Hehe you knew someone had to say it. But really for no particular reason than aesthetics pointy side up in the fridge egg holders, which I am guessing from everyone's response is probably the worst thing I could do.

I have them pointy up, but will do the opposite now! Also I keep them in the egg holder area but put the top of the egg carton over then, don't know if that makes any difference

I do a mix of on the bench and in the fridge. If we are going through a lot of eggs, then I keep them out. Always good to have some at room temp ready for baking.

Oh thanks everyone ! I don't keep mine in the fridge at all because I love baking. I have an egg holder thingy which I can hold 16 eggs but the eggs don't sit in properly if I put them in pointy side down so I have to turn the eggs upside down when I take them out of the carton. Mmm well that's given me something to think about. Thankyou very funny BubbaT I knew I'd get that from someone
